Introduction Obst & gyn department at FEH,Fbd is as old as hospital itself. (25yrs).The deptt is being run by a dedicated team of doctors led by Sr consultant & HOD Dr Nisha Kapoor(DGO,MD,MRCOG with 20yrs post MD experience in the speciality.she has worked in india & abroad & is serving as a senior consultant in this hospital for past 12yrs.Dr Indu taneja (DGO,DNB) consultant & head unit-2 is serving in this hospital for last 17yrs.Dr Niti Kautish (DGO,DNB) is working as a attending consultant in this hospital for last 7yrs.Dr Meenakshi Gupta (MD) is also working as clinical associate.Beside the deptt has a team of 4 senior residents & 5 DNB students to look after the deptt work round the clock.All deliveries & other work during routine as well as emergency hours is conducted /supervised by senior consultants.

The deptt has a modernasied & well equipped labor room with sophisticated maternal- fetal monitoring systems and high dependency unit care for complicated cases.Besides,we have LDR facility for pts who wish to labor & deliver in privacy among their family members. Our LDR’s are very well equipped with sophisticated LD tales,CTG machienes,neonatal resuscitation unit inbuilt light source,central O2/suction connectivity,besides the luxury of sofas,television,music systems,refrigerator etc.we conduct about 1000 deliveries per annum.the maximum in any pvt. Hospital in NCR.We are backed up by a modernized and well equipped NICU,(so important for high risk obs practice ),being run by a competent team of neonatologists led bu Dr Anjoo Bhatnagar.The facility of painless labour (both epidural & inhalational obstetric analgesia) is available to all our patients who are counseled for it during their antenatal visits.
We are second to none in the field of minimally invasive gynecological surgery.Advance laparoscopic surgery is being performed for endometriosis ,infertility,tubal recanalization ,fibroids,adenexal masses,ectopic pregnancy,dysfunctional uterine bleeding.We are performing hysterectomies by all methods LAVH,TAH,NDVH ,besides a few conventional TAH & VH(open).
Laparoscopic surgery has many benefits over conventional open surgery.Its done through keyhole incisions ,using sophisticated device like bipolar coagulation,laser & harmonic blade.There is minimal postoperative pain and patient can resume routine activities much faster.The hospital stay is short (2-3 days )and cosmetically its very satisfying both for the patient & surgeon.Chances of adhesion formation & wound infection are less as compared to open surgery.Incisional hernia is hardly ever encountered with lap surgery. The latest endevour which has been made in the field of gynae laparoscopy is single port scarless laparoscopic surgery which gives immense cosmetic satisfaction to the patients besides other benefits of laparoscopy.
Advanced hysteroscopy is another field we are proud of.All types of hysteroscopic procedures like TCRE,polypectomy,myomectomy,adhesiolysis,tubal cannulation ,excision of septum,foreign body removal etc. are being carried out with great expertise.
Colposcopy is available for diagnosis of cervical lesions & directed biopsies.We have world class OTs with very sophisticated & manuvrable OT tables,OT lights & zero contamination .A competent team of anaesthetists headed by Dr Vini Kapoor is there to support us through our most advanced as well as complicated surgeries. The deptt is running special clinics on infertility ,adolescent halth,menopause,high risk obstetrics & urogynecology.Along with gynecologist these clinics are manned by team of related specialists like endocrinologist ,Physician ,urologist and neonatologist.
