In the words of Kofi Annan - Secretary General, United Nations

“In today’s world the private sector is the dominant engine of growth – the principal creator of value and managerial resources. If the private sector does not deliver economic growth and opportunity – equitably and sustain ably – around the world, then peace will remain fragile and social justice just a distant dream”.

Against this backdrop Fortis Healthcare has an independent entity “The Fortis Healthcare Foundation” and “The Fortis Healthcare Charitable Trust.”  The foundation provides a framework for the organization’s systemic and sustained future engagement with the community at large.

Social outreach is not something new to the Fortis Healthcare family.  It has intrinsically been a part of the values that each and every Fortisian stands for and hence, since our very inception a short five years ago, we have been undertaking substantial initiatives transcending all segments of society.  However, with our growing network of hospitals, through the Foundation we have been able to institutionalize our collective efforts, both past and future, under one banner. 

In order to achieve transparent, auditable objectives and outcomes, within the umbrella of the Foundation and Trust the “Centre for Community Initiatives” (CCI) has been constituted. Through CCI we are committed to creating robust mechanisms to record, review and measure outcomes of our initiatives to the community at large.  This would not only ensure the efficacy of our programmes but would go a long way in guaranteeing that they continue to be significant, relevant and sustainable so that we derive maximum benefit from our effort as equally importantly, we are proud of our contributions to the community.

Dr. Alok Roy who brings with him a wealth of experience, commitment and passion spearheads the division.  The objective of CCI is to take some key programs at the group level and drive them through out the group companies and to the community at large. Apart from these programs, at the level of the network hospitals CCI would establish and support other ongoing and future community engagement initiatives attributed to regional specificities and needs, such as the girl child etc.
