Patient Testimonials

My husband, Anand and I would like to express our gratitude and admiration for all the expertise, care and concern shown to us at Fortis, Mohali during Anand's recent surgery in Feb. 2012. We are so impressed with all departments there especially post operative and nursing care which is so woefully inadequate in almost all hospitals in our country.

And our dear friend Atul! Thank you so much for bringing him into our lives. I don't know if it was destiny, serendipity or just Karmic connection. I find myself at a loss to describe what we feel for him. Despite his own personal trials and tribulations, he always has a smile on his face and is ever ready to spare his precious time to listen and exlain to you. He is clearly a surgeon par excellence but what is more , he is a great human being!.

And of course I will always be indebted to my dearest friend Angeli who made it all possible. Our grateful thanks for giving us the upgraded room. We will have to go in for one more procedure when they will close Anand's cholostomy. This should happen ,God willing, sometime in the third week of April.

I would also like to commend a young lad,Sunil, who works in the housekeeping department in ward A 1.He is an amazingly resourceful lad and a multi tasker as well.He also has great leadership potential but perhaps lacks the opening.I just thought I would bring this to your notice.

Once again many many thanks
Very warm regards

How little Hafsat ‘got her heart back’

Written by Isa Sa'idu, Kaduna Saturday, 04 February 2012 05:00

Hafsat Abubakar battled with a heart disease that required surgical operation overseas. After a story in Weekly Trust, the kindness of strangers and surgery at an Indian hospital, the bright, young girl is on the way to full recovery.

When doctors at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH), Shika, Zaria, confirmed that Hafsat, 9, must be flown out to India or Ghana for the treatment of her heart disease, the immediate dilemma of her father was how to get N2million being the amount required. Hafsat’s father, Malam Sani Abubakar, was torn between surrendering to fate and crying out for assistance. He decided to go for the latter, largely because for all those six years, he has been struggling to foot the hospital bills of the little girl at the ABUTH despite being only a tutor in an Islamiyya School, and such efforts should not be allowed to go in vain.

Malam Abubakar, eventually, cried out for help in an edition of this paper, sometime in October, 2011. After the publication, some well-meaning Nigerians responded through Malam Abubakar’s Bank Account. The first set of donations amounted to about N505,000, obviously, a far cry from the required N2m. Media Trust Ltd. (publisher of this newspaper) boosted Hafsat’s appeal fund with a donation of N500,000. Hafsat, fading with the heart disease, once more, begged other good Nigerians to come in with donations to save her life. This was possible through another publication by the Weekly Trust. As Hafsat’s destiny entails that she would survive, a leading northern traditional ruler, who was then at Saudi Arabia on pilgrimage, read the little girl’s story on the online version of the Weekly Trust.

Hafsat's father said: "Two things left me shocked that night. The first one was coming face-to-face with such a high-profile traditional ruler and the other was receiving a cheque for $10,000." That donation by the prominent traditional ruler completed the amount needed for the proposed Indian trip. After about three weeks of trying to get the required travel documents, Hafsat and her father left. On their arrival in Delhi, they were well-received by the Nigerian Defence Attaché who took them straight to the hospital where Hafsat was detailed to have the heart surgery. She finally underwent the operation on Thursday, January 5 and it was successful. “When they discharged us from the hospital, we were lodged at the Nigerian Guest House in Delhi for ten days, and within that period we were visiting the hospital for routine check-ups. On the tenth day, the doctors certified Hafsat fit to return to Nigeria. We left Delhi on Monday, January 23, and we arrived the Abuja Airport at about 12:45 pm, Nigerian time, on the same day," Malam Abubakar said.

The jovial countenance of Hafsat’s family was infectious on Tuesday, January 24, a day after their return journey. The celebration mood was so palpable that it was noticeable even from the hub of the street where Hafsat’s family house is located. Neighbours and relatives crowded the compound showering praises to Allah, the donors and Weekly Trust, which brought Hafsat's problem to light. "My little girl is back to life, all praises to Allah."

Hafsat, who could hardly sit from excitement, was jumping from one corner of her home to another. It was, indeed, an exciting moment for the family. Before the heart disease, Hafsat was a primary four pupil of Hayin Dogo L.E.A Primary School in Samaru, Zaria. Despite being out of school for about six years, Hafsat is now determined to go back to class, just like her peers. “My father told me that I will soon go back to school. I am extremely happy that I would go back and see Uncle and Aunty (her teachers). I am happy that I will once again take my school bag and go to school with Nasiru and Maryam,” Hafsat said.

Hafsat’s enthusiasm for going back to school has since received a boost. One of the people who helped in the successful trip to India has pledged to foot the cost education. "Alhaji Abdulrahman, who initially tried to link us up with an NGO that assists children with heart problems, promised to sponsor her education." According to Hafsat's father, the little girl may have to go back to India in the next three years for what the doctors called 'a follow-up'. "For now they have given us a detailed medical report, which we would present to her doctors at the ABUTH. The Indian doctors said the ABUTH doctors would continue to monitor her and they would be advising on the dos and don’ts. For now, Hafsat is hale and hearty. "I feel like I’m a new person now. I can now play with Nasir and Maryam and my mother can send me on errands. I'm happy."

Rosa Kucharskyj
'Intelligent Hip Surgery' conducted

An 'Intelligent Hip Surgery' was conducted on a British national Ms. Rosa A. Kucharskyj by a team of doctors including 2 Senior Surgeons from France, Francois Chalencon and Remi Philiippot. The surgery was conducted live at an International Workshop on Latest Advancements in Hip Replacement held at Fortis Hospital.

Over 100 doctors from the region took part in the Workshop in which sessions on the latest surgical techniques, procedures and advancements in arthroplasty were conducted by Dr. R Sen (PGIMER), Dr. A S Prasad (Madhuraj Hospital, Kanpur), Dr. H Tandon (Apollo Hospital,  Delhi), Dr. M S Gupta and Surgeon Commodore P Sarin.

According to the Course Director and Senior Consultant Orthopedics, Fortis Hospital, Mohali Dr. Manuj Wadhwa,"Intelligent Hip Surgery is an approach in which minimally invasive surgery techniques are used to precisely position clinically established implants and high performance bearings. The focus of the patient treatment is on maximizing survivorship, optimizing functions and accelerating recovery."

Talking about the surgery conducted at the Workshop,Senior Surgeons Francois Chalencon and Remi Philiippot said, "A minimally invasive surgical technique was used in which only a 3 to 5 inch incision is required, as compared to the 10 to 12 inch incision used in a conventional surgery.  The obvious benefit to the patient is that she will have an easier and less painful recovery, spend less time in the hospital and have fewer complications."

"We then carefully replaced the joint with a Corail Hip and Pinnacle Cup with metal on metal bearings. The Corail Hip is designed to preserve existing bone while stimulating new bone formation around the implant. It offers excellent flexibility and the patient will be able to even return to active sports after the surgery. This technique offers tremendous benefits to patients, especially to those with rheumatoid arthritis," they added

Talking about the world-wide trends in joint replacements, the senior surgeons said, "Hip replacement used to be an option primarily for people aged 60 and above. However, Scientists and engineers have been studying the science of joint replacements to find the best options for improving movement and flexibility.

They have been looking at new implant materials and ways to improve surgery. Recent developments like ceramic on ceramic and XL metal on metal implants as against the commonly used metal or plastic ones offer an excellent option due to the decrease in their wear and tear. This in turn leads to longer life of the implant and gives better movement. With these developments in technique and implant quality, hip replacement can now be performed on younger patients. With technological advancements, the implant can last even up to 30 years," they said.

"Many people delay hip replacement due to fear, misinformation, or a lack of awareness about their treatment options. They unnecessarily live with the physical pain, stiffness and reduced mobility that affects many areas of their daily lives and limits activities they enjoy to accommodate the symptoms of the disease," they said.

"Joint replacement is often the answer if you have constant pain and can't move the joint well; for example, if you have trouble performing basic daily activities like walking, climbing stairs and taking a bath.  Recent studies have shown that Hip Replacement Surgery may be properly considered at an earlier stage than it has been in the past due to improved surgical techniques and joint implants. You may be able to swim, play golf, walk or ride a bike again after a joint replacement," they added.

Talking about the trends in India, Dr. Wadhwa said, "In India, Avascular Necrosis (AVN), a disease resulting from the temporary or permanent loss of blood supply to the bones is common. The recent advancements in hip replacement now make it possible to provide a solution for this painful condition. Many undergo hip replacement as a result of osteoarthritis of the hip joint. But hip replacement is also used in people with hip injuries and rheumatoid arthritis."

The hip replacement surgery involves replacing the femoral head - the "ball" of your thighbone - with a metal ball. The metal ball attaches to a metal stem that fits into your thighbone. A metal socket and plastic liner are implanted into your pelvic bone (hip bone) to replace the damaged socket. The prosthetic parts that mimic the natural design of your hip, fit together and function like a normal hip joint. They can be made of plastic, metal, or ceramic. They may be cemented into place or have a coated with a biological material that induces your bone will grow into it.

Below is the letter of appreciation sent across by Rosa:

I would like to express my deepest, sincerest gratitude to Dr. Manuj Wadhwa and his marvellous team of Othopaedicians.

My name is Rosa Kucharskyj and I reside in India with my family.   I am British by birth, born 14th March 1951.
My hip had become terribly painful and bad after a nasty fall from my cycle. Screamingly, painfully bad.   I had been in such pain that unbeknown to me I was clenching my teeth together.  I only found this out when I paid a visit to my dentist in London.  The grinding and clenching of teeth was the reaction to the extreme pain on walking. From December 2008 till February 22nd. 2009 when I had my operation, life had become a real misery.  I did have relief when lying down but as soon as I was on my feet, after no more than 10 steps the pain would commence.  Climbing stairs was a misery plus I seemed to have pulled my whole right side (the bad hip side) out of sync because of this.

There had been pain earlier but nowhere near as bad as during the period mentioned.

I had visited 3 main 'big' hospitals in India in 2008 to find some help, treatment but I came away from those places feeling very low.

But by December I had begun to feel very very depressed and thought it will have to be London to get the operation done if I could save up enough money.

As luck would have it however, after reading an article written by Dr. Wadhwa, I went to visit him.  Just meeting him made me feel better and gave me hope.  Furthermore, he has very advanced knowledge, skills and expertise in the usage of hip implants like the one I was given.  metal on metal is reckoned to be the very best implant available in the world, at present.  Not only was Dr. Wadhwa so compassionate, listened to all I had to say, answered and addressed every detail, but so was his associate, Dr. Jaspreet S. Sran.  He was so kind; he actually took me round personally to the various places in the hospital which I would have to visit when I came for my pre-operation check up.  After having experienced the cold, indifferent attitude of other hospitals, I was really touched...because at this point, the doctors did not know if I was definitely going to be operated at Fortis or not.

I could find many more tiny details of the care and concern I was shown which just made me feel so confident.  The operation was also like a work of art--from the point of view that I FELT ABSOLUTELY NO PAIN.  In fact, I was all cozy and comfortable in the operating theatre.

Today is exactly 2 weeks and one day after the operation.  I feel marvellous, joyful, and confident about being able to lead a full, active life once again.  Every day when I get up and move around there is some indescribable improvement.  I have still not felt any pain to date
.
Thank you so very much Dr. Wadhwa, Dr. Jaspreet, Dr. Amit and the wonderful (strict) physiotherapists, Dr. Munish and Dr. Manjinder.

Dianne Cobb-Pennisi
United States of America

Dianne Cobb-Pennisi from Washington D.C was overwhelmed by the services at FHM below is the testimonial of her appreciation:

To the Faculty of FORTIS HOSPITAL,  Earlier this summer, I had decided to take a 30 day leave of absence from United Airlines for the sole reason to search and find a reputable dermatologist  in India. I am an American. I am a QUALIFIED PURSER with language qualifications in both French and Italian. I work the managerial flight attendant position to either Paris or Rome. As my best friend and her family are from the Punjab, I have been visiting Chandigarh 3 times a year for the past 2 years.

Armed with nothing but a laptop, company ID, passport, credit cards, and 30days worth of time, I began my venture. GOOGLE has proven to be a great friend of mine! After a very brief search, Google shot me right over to the web site of the Fortis Hospital. My next step was to call the hospital which I did promptly. After explaining to the operator what I was in search of, she gave me the mobile number of Dr. Daljeet Kaur. I was nothing less than amazed to have received the  direct number of a doctor.

(This would never happen in the US! I was  impressed of this policy) I have very good health insurance through United Airlines. I have the opportunity to pick and choose the doctors of my choice and I must say that obtaining the direct number of a doctor here, in the USA is as difficult as me performing brain surgery!! I proceed to call Dr. Kaur . Dr. Kaur gave me an appointment the following day. This was another wonderful surprise. ( I have waited 3 months to get an appointment here with a dermatologist!)

Dr. Kaur wanted to interview with me before deciding to perform the procedures of BOTOX injections and RESTALYNE. She asked me numerous questions. She also asked me if I had used certain substances recently as they may cause a adverse affect. I do not remember what those substances were. Green tea was one of them. Up to this point I would say that that Dr. Kaur is very thorough. I have had Botox injections done in both France and USA. The doctors never interviewed me and never explained to me in such detail the administration of the substances. After all, all she had to do was embed insulin sized needles into my forehead and send me packing. What was the big deal?? After our little interview I was stunned. I had a headache from too much information. This all indicated to me that Dr. Kaur has a great great passion for her work.

Before continuing my praises for Dr. Kaur, I would like to tell you just a little about myself. I was born into a professional family. My father  and younger sister are lawyers.  My older sister a doctor. ( I wonder if she gives her number out to her patients.)I myself attended Dartmouth College, thus , also am a Ivy Leaguer. Not wanting to be part of cooperate America, I decided to travel for the rest of my life.  I grew up in Tanzania, East Africa, returned to the US for my higher ed., worked as a high fashion model for 20 years! Settled down and got married in Italy, moved back to the US in 1992 and joined UNITED AIRLINES.

If anyone would know the business of customer service, that would be me. Through my knowledge, I recognize Dr. Kaur as having the best of "bedside manner" I have come across. She made me feel most welcome and most of all, I did not feel rushed in any way. I took my time vacating her studio.

The next day is both the procedures. Afterwards, Dr. tells me that she would like to see again for a "top off" within 2 weeks. The restalyne results were immediate but the Botox was going to take a few days to see any results. I came back to Chandigarh after having a wonderful time in Kerala.

I waltzed into her studio with a big grin on my face. She asks, "how do you like the results?" Could she see from the big grin on my face that I was elated? I was very happy. She toped me off with the last 10 mgs  higher up on my forehead. Results are incredible take a look at the "before" and "after"

It is well documented that both these substances are of high quality and well tolerated. BUT, the doctor still has to have the talent and intuition to know exactly how and where to administer. Dr. Kaur has a keen eye. She was great! she was friendly she was professional. I will be back.

I feel as good as she has made me look.

Congrades to the Fortis Hospital for having a great staff and administrative office also. the facilities are very clean. Everyone very very helpful.

My prayers have been answered
I praise my new dermatologist and friend.

God Bless you all.
I will be back in January to pay Dr. C. Kapoor a visit  Stay tuned :)

Always,

Gerard Conroy
United Kingdom

In 2007,  Gerard Conroy got upper and lower eyelid surgery done at Fortis Hospital  as a Valentine Gift to look younger for his wife, Carol Now, for this Valentines Day, Carol has travelled from UK for the same surgery on her at Fortis itself !

Mohali, February 3, 2009: It's a return gift from Carol Conroy to her husband Gerard Conroy. On January 24, 2009, Carol got Blepharoplasty done for loose skin on both the upper and lower eyelids at Fortis Hospital, Mohali.  Almost 2 years ago, her husband had  got a facelift and Blepharoplasty surgery done at Fortis so that he could look younger, as a Valentine gift for his wife. Obviously satisfied with the results, the Conroy's came back to Fortis and this augurs well for medical tourism to the tri-city and India.

"The couple is a perfect example of how partners are undergoing cosmetic surgery to improve their faces and bodies to match their partners," said Dr. K M Kapoor, Consultant, Cosmetology, Fortis Hospital Mohali, "No longer is Valentine's Day all about young lovers trying to woo their beloved, it now holds a special meaning for the 'young at heart' who are celebrating their relationship and coming closer together with a special kind of bond," he added.

Talking about the procedure and its benefits, Dr. Kapoor said, "Blepharoplasty can be both a functional and cosmetic surgical procedure to reshape the upper or lower eyelid. This is done by the removal or repositioning of excess tissue as well as by reinforcement of surrounding muscles and tendons. When an advanced amount of upper eyelid skin is present, the skin may hang over the eyelashes and cause a loss of peripheral vision. Upper eyelid Blepharoplasty is performed to improve peripheral vision or cosmetic reasons. Lower eyelid Blepharoplasty is almost always done for cosmetic reasons, to improve puffy lower eyelid "bags" and reduce the wrinkling of skin," he stated.

According to Dr. Ashish Banerji, Director, Fortis Hospital, Mohali, "International patients are very particular that the doctors should be skilled and experienced, the hospital must have all facilities to take care of any eventuality and the highest standards of hygiene and comfort are maintained. Fortis, with its prestigious JCI and NABH accreditation, has become the Hospital of choice for such patients and we are very happy to be of service to them."

Jaqualine Roberts (69) and Patricia Neal (67)
United Kingdom
November 2006

When Jaqualine Roberts (69) and Patricia Neal (67), both sisters, decided to undergo cosmetic surgery together, little did they realise their dream would take them to India , thousands of miles away. Jacky wanted this surgery as her abdomen was scarred with three abdominal surgeries in last 25 years and Patricia readily agreed to be her companion in the whole process including getting operated along with. Their research for cost effective packages led them to India, when they read a story in 'Daily Mail' about a UK nurse, Anne Marie Jones, who traveled toFortis Hospital, Mohali, in January 2006 and came back very happy with her Tummy Tuck surgery. Anne Marie strongly recommended Dr K M Kapoor , Senior Consultant and Head, Department of Cosmetic Surgery for this job and dispelled all their doubts about travel to India.

Both landed in Delhi on 6th November and headed straight to Agra to see the Taj Mahal. They reached Mohali on 9thNovember after the brief vacation. They underwent all the necessary tests and anesthesia evaluation on the same day. The sisters were originally scheduled for surgery on 10 th and 11 th respectively. But Patricia had different plans. She insisted that since they were doing everything together, both of them should be operated on the same day. It was a tough call butDr K M Kapoor accepted this challenge. Jaqualine was operated on the morning of 10th November and Patricia in the afternoon. This is probably first time in the world that two sisters have undergone same cosmetic surgical procedure on the same day.

Post operatively, both recovered quickly and were on their feet with support on the very next day. After 5 days, both were discharged from the hospital. They are all praise for their doctor, nurses and supporting staff at Fortis Hospital , Mohali . "Never have we been treated so well at a hospital, anywhere in the world." says Jaqualine. "The services at FHM are exceptional. We were treated like royalty. So many people were at our beck and call," gushed Patricia.

Toqi Tahmid
Bangladesh
July 31, 2006

"I am the happiest mother in the world" gushed Razia Begum, mother of 3-month old Toqi Tahmid on July 31, 2006 at Fortis Healthcare flt. Lt. Rajan Dhall Hospital, Vasant Kunj. She and her husband had traveled from Dhaka, Bangladesh in search of a surgeon who could successfully perform the rare & complex surgery for a congenital heart defect suffered by her 3-month old baby boy.

Dr. T S Mahant, cardiothoracic surgeon, who operated on Toqi Tahmid on July 31, said "this is an extremely rare condition, about 1-2% of all children born with heart defects can have a problem so complicated. It was not just one malformation. The heart had failed to develop properly and unless such cases are operated early in life, the high pressure in the lungs can make them inoperable in the first six months of their lives". His team had separated the valves, some of which shared common tissue; used the tissues of the outer lining of the Heart. Dr. Mahant added that Toqi's chest X-ray and blood tests are normal and he was fit to be discharged soon and also the boy's parents could now be assured of his normal life-span and growth.

Ms. Razia Begum, a lecturer & her husband Mr. Shahajahan Choudhary, a businessman had consulted the best Cardiologists in Dhaka and they advised immediate surgery. They arrived in India in the second week of July and moved from one ICU to another in the hope that somebody would take their case till a doctor referred them to Fortis hospital, Vasant Kunj. After the operation, the boy had been on a ventilator for three days. The couple make no mention of the cost of operation, it is too insignificant an amount for the life of their firstborn, their bundle of joy.

Tony Samantha Wildesh
United Kingdom
August, 2006

When a breast augmentation procedure that Tony Samantha Wildesh, a UK based model underwent at Prague, Czechoslovakia, went wrong, she thought her whole life had stopped. Calling it one of the worst decisions she had ever made, Tony was keen to persuade her peers not to go under the knife or have injections.
"With a bleeding, infected implant, I could have died of septicaemia. Doctors back home in UK had to perform an emergency procedure to remove the implant from the right side, leaving me with one breast larger than the other." she remarks.
After going to many doctors all over, but with little assurance, Tony had just started to believe that her career had run aground when she was informed of the vast scope in cosmetic and corrective surgeries that India offers.
In search of health and beauty, she arrived at Fortis Hospital, Mohali in January, with skewed breasts. A corrective surgery by Dr. KM Kapoor, Senior Cosmetic Surgeon, did not only help her regain her shattered self-confidence, but also her career as a glamour model set soaring, post augmentation.
Back at Fortis Hospital, Mohali for another 'breast job', Tony's echoes the sentiments of many as she says "Everybody has the right to look and feel beautiful, and if it is only about a nip here and a tuck there, why not!" She didn't miss the opportunity to get Botox shots to smooth fine lines from her face at a Botox party organized at Fortis.
Tony calls Dr Kapoor her guardian angel. "FHM is a world-class hospital and Dr Kapoor is one of the best cosmetic surgeons I have met, and believe me I have met a number of them", she says.
Oozing with confidence, Tony adds that she would not hesitate to be back again for new cosmetic procedures, as and when the need be.

Mr. Warren Miller
Australia

Mr. Warren Miller already had one of his knees operated in Australia; however, he had to wait almost three years for his turn to come.

Mr. Miller wanted to get the other knee operated as well. For the knee operated here, he had a choice between Fortis Healthcare Ltd. and Hospitals in Thailand. The decision of choosing Fortis Healthcare Limited was made because of the orthopedic surgeon and the cost.

Accompanied by his wife, Wendy Miller, they reached Fortis Hospital Noida even though their town was hit by "Cyclone Larry" on their day of departure.

After the operation Mr. Miller said "Dr. Ashok Rajgopal had done a marvelous job and I have little pain and excellent recovery. Within a week I'm planning a trip to see the Taj Mahal in Agra"

The Physiotherapist have speeded up my recovery. The resident doctors were regular in their visits and medicines were on time. Everyone was so friendly and helpful" he said. Mr Miller was amazed that within a week he was able to walk properly.

Mr. Charles Kaiser
United States of America

Mr. Charles Kaiser, a 62 year old retired professor from the United States of America underwent two neurosurgery procedures (Cervical Corpectomy & Fusion and Lumbar Posterior fusion-2 levels) on the 6th and 11th of January respectively. The procedures were performed by Dr. A. K. Singh, Director Neurosciences, Fortis Hospital, Noida.

Mr. Kaiser said “Doctors in Fortis Healthcare are highly professional and were always reassuring. The Nurses, Physiotherapist and the Housekeeping people were extraordinary. Everybody goes a step out of their way and everything has an element of personal touch. Food was excellent and was available when ever it was asked for. This kind of personal care cannot be expected in USA".

We were quoted between US $ 85,000 to US $ 100,000 for the surgeries in the US and in Fortis Healthcare noida - including a round trip to Agra, Jaipur and Neemrana Fort - it was under US $ 12,000.

My pain has reduced substantially post surgery and Dr A K Singh has given me the reassurance that I could call him whenever I want to.

Overall, Fortis Healthcare was outstanding in all ways…right from the welcome bouquet at the Airport to the warm sendoff. A real memorable experience to treasure.”

I am from Sri Lanka, getting my treatment done under Dr. Upendra Kaul, the cardiologist.

I came to India and got admitted in Fortis Healthcare, Noida on 31st August, 2005. The facilities provided by the hospital are appreciable. Doctors, Nurses and other staff are very cordial in discharging their responsibilities and it is a real consolation for a patient like me who has come from a foreign country.

Special mention should be made of the Guest Relation Officer who impressed me very much with her friendly attitude. She was very prompt in providing the facilities I requested from her. Her superb communication skill will be an asset to this institution.

Dr. A Serebro
Omer Israel

My name is Dr. A Serebro of Omer Israel aged 69 years. After coming to India last week I tripped & fell which lead to Fracture of Femur (thigh-bone), accompanied by doctors I was transferred by an ambulance to a hospital where X Ray reveled the fracture. After as ECG, blood tests were taken & I was transferred to Fortis Hospital which is a modern hospital in Amritsar where further test to my heart & chest were under taken & I then underwent partial Hip replacement surgery under epidural anesthesia. The operation was performed by a most competent Orthopaedic joint replacement Surgeon. I felt no pain during the operation & only a very slight discomfort after the surgery.

The staff & nurses treating me were most sympathetic & helpful in every way. Every request by me & my family was granted with warmth, love & affection.

I also had a series of treatment by speciality physiotherapist & a specialist dietician attended to my diet during the time I was in the hospital. My wife is qualified nurse & my daughter final year medical student who flew out to help me were also given the maximum help possible.

The cost of all above treatment & medication were most reasonable & I want to convey my appreciation for all the help given to me & my family.

Your Sincerely.
