Mr. Malvinder Mohan Singh
Executive Chairman


Malvinder is an entrepreneur with significant business interests in the Healthcare, Financial Services and Insurance sectors.

Malvinder is Executive Chairman of Fortis Healthcare, a leading healthcare player in the pan Asia Pacific region. In line with his strategy of creating a leading multi country integrated healthcare delivery model, he transformed Fortis from an Indian company to the market leader in multiple healthcare verticals in Asia Pacific. He continues to execute on his vision of making Fortis a leading global healthcare service provider.

In the Financial Services and Insurance sectors, Malvinder has business interests through Religare Enterprises. As Chairman of the company, Malvinder helped evolve the company's strategy of creating an integrated financial services organization in India, a global asset management platform and an emerging market focused investment bank. In a precedent setting move by a majority shareholder, Malvinder stepped down as Chairman in 2010 demonstrating his belief of segregating ownership and management and his confidence in the company's leadership team.

Previously, Malvinder was Chairman, MD and CEO of Ranbaxy Laboratories. He spearheaded the coming together of Ranbaxy and Daiichi Sankyo, to create the world’s fifteenth largest pharmaceutical company – a move seen as a game-changer by industry experts.

Malvinder has a strong belief in the social responsibility of individuals and corporate. With a focus on affordability and accessibility of life saving medicines in emerging and under developed countries, he channelled resources towards innovating to reduce cost of ARV medication and on the development of a new low cost synthetic anti-malarial drug. Through various foundations and trusts, Malvinder supports initiatives providing curative and preventive healthcare to the under privileged in India’s villages and urban slums.

Malvinder is a member of the Board of Visitors at the Fuqua School of Business (Duke University, USA) and the Board of the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER). He was member of the first batch of the Young Global Leaders initiative of the World Economic Forum. A graduate in Economics, he earned his MBA from the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University, USA.



Mr. Shivinder Mohan Singh
Executive Vice Chairman - Fortis Healthcare Limited


Shivinder Mohan Singh is Executive Vice Chairman at Fortis Healthcare Limited, a leading, integrated healthcare delivery provider in the Pan Asia-Pacific region. Fortis’ healthcare verticals span primary healthcare, speciality day care, diagnostics and hospitals, with an asset base in 10 countries, many of which represent the fastest-growing healthcare delivery markets in the world. Currently, the company operates in Australia, Canada, Dubai, Hong Kong, India, Mauritius, New Zealand, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Vietnam. Fortis is driven by the vision of becoming a global leader in the integrated healthcare delivery space and the larger purpose of saving and enriching lives through clinical excellence.

Shivinder is also one of the principal promoters of Religare Enterprises Limited, Super Religare Laboratories Limited, Fortis Clinical Research Limited and serves as a Director on the Board of Religare Technologies Limited. He was one of the key promoters of Ranbaxy Laboratories and served as Director on the Board of the pharmaceutical major.

Shivinder has done his MBA with specialization in health sector management from the Duke University Business School, USA. He is an alumnus of Doon School and an Honours Graduate in Mathematics from St. Stephens College, Delhi, He has been Chairperson of the Health Services Committee of FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry) and Board Member of NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospital and Healthcare Providers). Presently, he is Chairperson of FICCI Young Leaders.

Shivinder’s contribution to Indian Healthcare is widely acknowledged. For over a decade, he has played a leading role in shaping the private healthcare space in India. While healthcare is a passion for Shivinder, his dream is to contribute in building a vibrant India. He is involved in a number of initiatives focused on social change – a better future for the girl child, HIV education, quality healthcare in Rural India and more. Shivinder is on the board of visitors of Fuqua School of Business, Duke University, USA and a fellow of Aspens India Leadership Initiative. He is also on the National Board of Advisors for AIESEC, a global, non-political and independent, not-for-profit organization run by students and graduates from institutions of higher education.

Shivinder lives with his wife Aditi and their four sons, in New Delhi. He likes sports such as football and hockey, enjoys watching films and prides himself on building lasting relationships!



Mr. Aditya Vij
Chief Executive Officer


Mr. Aditya Vij has joined us as Chief Executive Officer with effect from July 05, 2011.

Aditya is a Chartered Accountant from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and an MBA from International Institute for Management Development (IMD), Lausanne, Switzerland. He has rich management experience spanning three decades in the corporate world with a proven track record of developing and turning around businesses in various leadership positions. He joins us from Punj Lloyd where he held the position of Group President - Defense, a role in which he was responsible for setting up the Defense and Nuclear Power verticals for the Group.

Prior to joining Punj Lloyd, Aditya had a distinguished innings of 18 years with General Motors, across five countries in Europe and Asia. Some of the key positions he held with GM include General Director - Opel Southeast Europe, Hungary, Chairman & Managing Director - GM India and Regional Executive Director - Nordic, Benelux & Switzerland. Among his significant achievements at GM were the turnaround of the India business into a profitable entity, the successful launch of the Chevrolet brand in India, the expansion of production capacity at the car manufacturing plants several-fold, the establishment of an engineering & R&D Centre for Global competitiveness and the setting up of a shared services centre for GM Units worldwide.

Aditya brings with him an impressive strategic orientation, coupled with a strong execution focus and an ability to lead large teams.



Mr. Daljit Singh
President - Strategy & Organizational Development


Mr. Daljit Singh, aged 60, is the President -Strategy and Organizational Development of the Company.  He joined the Company in September 2002.  He is a gold medalist from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi and holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in chemical engineering. He was a Commonwealth Scholar at the Senior Management Program at the Manchester Business School in 1995. He has over six years of experience in the healthcare industry and over three decades of management experience. Mr. Singh was the Chief Executive Officer of the Company until November 30, 2006. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Singh was the Director in-charge of human relations, communications, external relations and safety, health and environment divisions of ICI India Limited for 28 years.


 

Mr. Balinder Singh
Non-Executive
, Independent Director

Mr Balinder Singh Dhillon is a Non-Executive, Independent Director. Having worked with corporate houses such as Hindustan Unilever Limited and INTRIA Items Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of CIBC Bank, Canada, he has more than 17 years of rich experience in corporate laws, governance, risk management, strategic planning, and implementation. He was a member of the Board of Directors of Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd, a multi billion dollar multinational pharmaceutical company. He was also associated with Parkway Holdings Ltd. as Non- Executive Director from March, 2010 to August 2010.

Mr Balinder Singh Dhillon graduated from the Punjab University and is a member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and the Bar Council of India. He holds a Master of Laws degree from McGill University, Canada. As a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, he completed his accreditation under a Certificate of Qualification equivalent to a Graduate of Law through the Law Faculty, University of Toronto, Canada.
