Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Level III)
The Neonatal Unit comprises a state-of-the-art 10-bedded Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, an Isolation Unit and a 5-bedded Special Care Baby Unit, which meets international standards.
Dr Raghuram Mallaiah, neonatologist trained at the Hammersmith Hospital - London, is a full time consultant at Fortis La Femme and is supported by a team of qualified doctors who are available round-the-clock and specially trained nurses to deal with any unexpected emergencies and premature newborns.
The special features include:
- Continuous monitoring with sophisticated multi parameter monitors
- Neonatal incubators (both open and closed care systems)
- Sophisticated high frequency neonatal ventilators
- CPAP: Dedicated Nasal CPAP drivers (Instant Flow drivers)
- Neonatal Emergency Transport Service (NETS)
- Blood gas analyzer to assist in ventilator management
- Digital syringe and Infusion pumps
- Piped medical gases and suction
- An isolation care unit
- Breast feeding room
 Our facility offers the necessary support and education needed through pregnancy, childbirth and early parenthood. A spacious and comfortable room has been designed to conduct these programs. We help reduce some of the anxiety that pregnancy brings. Our staff of experienced instructors works with the expectant parents, to prepare them for the baby's birth or any needs that may arise even in the postpartum period.

Neonatal Emergency Transport Service (NETS)
 We have round-the-clock neonatal transport service. This service is aimed to provide telephonic advice to clinicians dealing with sick babies in other hospitals, to send neonatal transport team to hospitals on request & to transfer babies back to the referring hospital following treatment. La Femme has a dedicated ambulance fitted in with a neonatal transport incubator & ventilator.

We have recently done a neonatal air ambulance transfer from Lucknow. The baby was successfully treated in our NICU and is now back with his family.
