IMPORTANT NOTICE: At Fortis Healthcare, we are fully supportive of the National priorities set out by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. Further to the directives of the Government provided in their press release dated 8th Nov 2016, payments at Government hospitals can be made through 500 and 1000 Rupee denomination notes. In view of the hardship being caused to the large number of patients at private hospitals, we have made an urgent representation to the Government that this exemption should apply equally, for payments, at private hospitals. We are following up with the authorities and hope the Government will step in quickly to resolve this anomaly. Meanwhile, at Fortis hospitals across the country, we continue to accept payments through credit card, debit card and electronic banking transfers. As 500 and 1000 Rupee denomination notes are no longer legal tender we are only accepting 100 Rs and lower currency notes. As per Government regulation, a PAN card and legitimate ID proof is however required for payments in cash exceeding Rs 50,000. Meanwhile we continue to ensure that emergency cases get immediate medical attention without delay whatsoever and have put in more administrative staff and help desks to assist patients.

Dr. Ajay Mathur is Head of Dental Department at S L Raheja Hospital (A Fortis Associate), Mahim, Mumbai and Head, Department of Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery at Fortis Hiranandani Hospital, Vashi.

Dr. Ajay Mathur earned his bachelor of dental surgery degree from Mumbai in first class in 2008. Dr Ajay then completed his masters in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics and was a topper in his batch. His master thesis was selected for the mds thesis grant by Indian council of medical research (icmr), min of health, Indian govt. Post completion of his masters, Dr Ajay travelled to USA for his higher studies and conducted research on stability implants in mandible and maxilla bone at UCONN, USA. 

Dr Ajay has also received numerous awards and accolades. He received best clinic research award from dci president for his research on bone quality and implant stability at 8th Asia pacific orthodontic conference. American orthodontics, Wisconsin, USA had given him a special grant for his research on implants and class ii correctors. 

Dr Ajay has a strong industry interface and has authored more than 14 national and international publications and presented several papers in national conferences. 

His special interests include treatment of complex dentofacial orthopedics cases including cleft lip and cleft palate. Dr. Mathur is also specialized in lingual (invisible) braces and certified Osstem (US FDA approved) Implantologist.
