IMPORTANT NOTICE: At Fortis Healthcare, we are fully supportive of the National priorities set out by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. Further to the directives of the Government provided in their press release dated 8th Nov 2016, payments at Government hospitals can be made through 500 and 1000 Rupee denomination notes. In view of the hardship being caused to the large number of patients at private hospitals, we have made an urgent representation to the Government that this exemption should apply equally, for payments, at private hospitals. We are following up with the authorities and hope the Government will step in quickly to resolve this anomaly. Meanwhile, at Fortis hospitals across the country, we continue to accept payments through credit card, debit card and electronic banking transfers. As 500 and 1000 Rupee denomination notes are no longer legal tender we are only accepting 100 Rs and lower currency notes. As per Government regulation, a PAN card and legitimate ID proof is however required for payments in cash exceeding Rs 50,000. Meanwhile we continue to ensure that emergency cases get immediate medical attention without delay whatsoever and have put in more administrative staff and help desks to assist patients.

Dr Gurinder Bedi has been in Fortis Hospital for over 5 yrs. He brings with him his immense knowledge and experience gathered over the past 20 yrs. He presently works with his colleagues in the FORTIS Centre for Advanced Orthopaedics to provide the most comprehensive and complete care in all Orthopaedic Sub specialities in our city.

He himself trained in Delhi’s premier institute MAMC and then worked in England for 11 yrs before coming back, a few years ago. In UK he has worked in various University Hospitals around Bristol & Newcastle region with many a Specialist of international acclaim. Having trained and worked extensively in the NHS, UK he has varied special interest in areas such as Joint replacement both in lower limb and upper limb, Arthroscopy, Foot & Ankle surgery and Spine Surgery. He has done advanced fellowship in Knee Replacement (Dr. R. Close), Hip Reconstruction (Dr. M. Maheson/ Dr. S. Jones/ Dr. A. John) and also Foot & ankle and Deformity correction (Prof. R. Atkins).

In India he has previously worked in MAX hospital, Primus Hospital and Sitaram Bhartiya Hospital. He runs a busy practise in the hospital along with his colleagues and is consistently rated with very high patient satisfaction score. His main practise in our hospital has been Joint replacement especially Knee and Hip, Arthroscopy and Sports injury and Foot problems besides managing Spinal problems. In his practise special focus in Knee replacement surgery, remains on pain management and reduction of blood loss in all surgeries. He is regularly doing minimal incision surgery along with computer navigated surgery and patient specific knee replacement.

He organises regular teaching session for the Delhi Orthopaedic Association and is a reviewer for the Indian Journal of Orthopaedics & Journal of Clinical Orthopaedics & Trauma. He also regularly lectures on many international and national level conferences besides being an AO(Swiss group) trauma trainer. Regularly invited for lectures in DOA/ IOACON/ ISKSAA and other national meetings.
