Dr. Kler pursued his MBBS from Patiala and his MD in Medicine & DM in Cardiology from PGI Chandigarh. Thereafter he worked in Saudi Arabia, establishing a Cardiology unit in one of their tertiary care centres. Dr. Kler then proceeded to do his MRCP from UK before returning to India and has been associated with Escorts Heart Institute & Research Centre, New Delhi. He is Fellow of Royal College of Physicians, UK. (FRCP), Fellow of American College of Cardiology (FACC).

Dr. Kler did his graduation from Patiala Medical College & went on to do his post graduation & doctorate in PGI Chandigarh. After completing his qualification from India, Dr. Kler proceeded to UK to complete his membership of Royal College of Physicians of UK & also to enhance his skills in the field of Cardiology. In 1989 Dr. Kler in spite of being very well established in the UK could not resist the call of his motherland & decided to come back to India, where he joined the Escorts heart Institute & Research Centre, New Delhi.

The Great Son of India Award given by the Function for International Recognized Talented by Sahibzada Ajit Singh Academy, Punjab in February 2003; The Citation Awarded on behalf of Escorts Heart Institute, Delhi by Dr. A. P. J. Abdul, President of India in December 2002 & the Vijay Ratna Award given by India International Friendship Society for Enriching Human Life and Outstanding Attainments are some of the other awards bestowed on Dr. Kler.

Dr. T. S. Kler is the Executive Director, Cardiac Sciences, and Head of department of Cardiology, FEHI, Delhi. In addition, Dr. Kler is a Director Arrhythmia Service, at FEHI Delhi since its inception in 1991. He performs 2000 cardiac diagnostic angiographies, around 300 angioplasties including stenting/atherectomy/rotablation every year. Dr. Kler has many firsts to his credit in this country. He established the 1st state of the art Electrophysiology department in India & was the first doctor to implant Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) in April 1995 in India. In May 2000 he implanted the 1st heart failure device (Biventricular Pacemaker) in South East Asia. In April 2002 he was the first doctor to implant Combo Device (Combination of ICD & Biventricular pacemaker) in South East Asia. He was the first doctor to start the Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) programme in Sri Lanka & Bangladesh. Dr. Kler was first to implant an ICD in Punjab Institute of Cardiology, Lahore, Pakistan in March 2004. He also arranged the 1st Indo Pak Heart Summit at Amritsar, Punjab in April 10th - 11th, 2004 thus bringing the doctors of both the countries scientifically & socially together.
