CARDIOLOGY Dr. Upendra Kaul
Dr. Kaul is Director-Cardiology at Fortis Healthcare flt. Lt. Rajan Dhall Hospital. He is an MD Medicine (1975) and a DM Cardiology (1978) from Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi. His Post Graduation training in Interventional Cardiology was obtained in Australia under the aegis of the Australian Post Graduate Federation of Medicine in 1983-84. During his long and distinguished career as a Clinician, Researcher and Teacher, Dr. Kaul has held several coveted responsibilities. He has been on the faculty of G.B Pant Hospital, New Delhi, PGIMER, Chandigarh and was Professor of Cardiology at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He joins Fortis Healthcare after a very successful innings at Batra Hospital, New Delhi where he held the post of Director, Interventional Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology.
Amongst the earliest pioneers in coronary interventions in India, Dr. Kaul introduced several new techniques in this discipline. He is an active member of several professional bodies, has participated in and conducted numerous live interventional cardiology demonstrations at National and International meets. He is on the faculty of several prestigious universities in the USA, Europe, Far East, China and Australia. Dr. Kaul ia a past President of the Cardiological Society of India and is currently the Vice President of the SAARC Cardiac Society. Dr. Tapan Ghose
Dr. Tapan Ghose, MD (Med), DNB (Med), DNB (Cardiology), FNB (Interventional Cardiology), MNAMS, FIAMS is a Consultant in Cardiology. He graduated (MBBS) from Silchar Medical College and was awarded gold medal in medicine. He did his post graduation MD (Internal Medicine) from Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh. Subsequently he passed the DNB (Internal Medicine) examination from National Board of Examination, New Delhi. He has worked in the Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi and subsequently in Batra Hospital & Medical Research Centre, New Delhi. He passed DNB (Cardiology) examination from there and joined the faculty as a Consultant in Interventional Cardiology in 2001. He was awarded the Fellowship of National Board (Interventional Cardiology) in 2002.
Dr. Ghose has been associated with several pioneering works in Cardiology in India like primary angioplasty (PTCA), use of Abciximab and Atorvastatin . He has more than 75 publications in several national & international journals. He has contributed to 5 chapters in text books.
Dr. Ghose is well versed in coronary interventional procedures & cardiac electrophysiology. His areas of interest include coronary artery disease in the young, hyperlipidaemia, hypertension and rhythm disturbances. He is a member of National Academy of Medical Sciences India and a Fellow of International Academy of Medical Sciences.
Dr. Ripen Kumar Gupta
Dr. Ripen Kumar Gupta, MD (Medicine), DM (Cardiology), FNB (Interventional Cardiology), is Consultant Cardiology in Fortis Healthcare group of Hospitals. He completed his DM Cardiology course from King George's Medical College, Lucknow in 1998. He worked as faculty in Escorts Heart Institute & Research Centre, New Delhi and Christian Medical College, Ludhiana. Dr. Ranjan Kachru

Dr. Sanjay Gupta is currently a Senior Consultant, Cardiothoracic and vascular surgery at Fortis Healthcare flt Lt Rajan Dhall Hospital, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. He passed his MBBS (1998) and MS General Surgery (1991) from MLN Medical College, Allahabad, UP. Subsequently he did his M.Ch. He worked at Batra Hospital and Medical Research Centre, New Delhi for eight years in the capacity of consultant cardiac surgeon under the great leadership of Dr. T.S. Mahant and played an important role in spearheading the programme of Cardiac Surgery to great height.
In 2003, he joined Narinder Mohan Hospital & Heart Centre, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad (UP) as H.O.D. and Chief Cardio-vascular and thoracic surgeon. He performed more than 500 surgeries over there, pertaining to all subspecialities of branch (viz coronary, congenital heart surgery, valvular heart surgery, all vascular and thoracic surgery). Dr. R. K. Mani is the Director, Dept. of Pulmonology, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine at Fortis Healthcare flt. Lt. Rajan Dhall Hospital. He is widely recognized as one of the pioneers in the field of Pulmonary and Critical Care medicine in India. He was one of the first physicians to introduce the concept of Non-invasive ventilation for both acute and long-term home care. He was also one of the pioneers in the field of sleep medicine especially sleep related breathing disorders. He has treated hundreds of patients of sleep apnoea, obesity-hypoventilation syndrome and neuromuscular respiratory disorders using non-invasive mask ventilator devices.
