Expert throws light on knee replacement surgery

An international surgeon and pioneer of mobile-bearing knee replacement surgery, Dr J.L. Briard, hailing from France, today said total knee surgery was expensive and complicated and if 90 per cent of the pain was not there, the operation could be termed as successful. He was attending a seminar after conducting a surgery at Fortis Hospital, Mohali, in association with Dr Manuj Wadhwa.

  • Twenty-four-year-old Ravi Girdhar died after he met with an accident near the Delhi-Noida border. After the accident, Girdhar’s head was stuck in an iron railing and for two hours, his body was left that way as the police fought over who had jurisdiction in the case.

THE Delhi government will soon launch emergency medical services in partnership with private medicare companies. The state government would create a special purpose vehicle (SPV) for the purpose. According to sources, a number of ambulances would be deployed in every zone of the Capital for providing quality emergency services to road mishap victims.
