Infertility affects upto 15% of couples, who are unable to have children. Various techniques of Assisted Reproduction have now made it possible to treat almost all forms of infertility, and help such couples to achieve pregnancy. These techniques are now responsible for the birth of around 2 million children worldwide. Fortis Ridge IVF Centre offers the latest services, with success rates equivalent to the west, at very affordable prices, but without compromising on quality. This has been possible by making use of the latest equipment, best quality disposable & imported culture media, high-class competent service and very economical professional fee. This objective has enabled our unit to be at the forefront in offering fertility services in India. Our goal is to offer the most advanced and globally competitive ART programs and services. All our centers are equipped with the state-of-the-art 'Embryology Laboratory' and staffed with the team of highly trained professionals.
Fortis Ridge IVF Centre is equipped with sophisticated state- of - the - art technology & manned by highly trained and skilled personnel. The IVF lab has two Incubators which act as back up for one another (Leec Culture Safe Co2 Incubator and K-Minc-1000 Benchtop Incubator – Triple gas, Cook) which are monitored 24hours to assure appropriate culture conditions. The incubators are connected to the gas cylinder by an Orgio Culture Ultra Pure Gasline Filters, prevents harmful contaminants such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs), chemically active contaminants (CACs), odor and particles from entering the inner chamber of incubators. An air purification system (Airocide, Photo catalytic Air Purification System, Developed by NASA) has been installed on the wall of the IVF lab.
Lab is well equipped with comfortable IVF working station to handle the delicate eggs and embryos. The Centre has the latest facilities of MICROMANIPULATION ICSI from Olympus Narshige ,Japan with accessories like high resolution color monitors to capture and store viewing & Heat stage warmers. The Sage culture media are specially flown in from Denmark. The vitrolife media is flown in from Sweden .These media are batch tested with stringent quality controls. In short we are making use of the best possible equipment & materials to achieve results equivalent to the west. Additionally the centre has the facility of cryopreservation of Oocytes, Embryos and Sperms for future use. We use Cryologic Vitrification Technique (Australlia). CVM is a safe, simple and convenient procedure which offers a number of advantages over other vitrification methods.
First line of treatment for infertile couples. The semen is processed in a C02 incubator with special culture media and then the best quality sperms are placed in the uterine cavity around the time of ovulation.
It’s also useful for unexplained infertility, endometriosis, failed IUI, etc. The eggs are removed vaginally using a needle attached to ultrasound probe & mixed with husband's sperms and kept in the incubator for two days. The fertilised egg (embryo) is then replaced in the uterus (womb).
Is a specialized technique for males with low or zero sperm count. The eggs are removed and each egg is injected with a single motile sperm. These eggs are incubated for two days & the embryos are put back into the womb. By this technique men with counts as low as 0.5 million or men with no sperms (Azoospermia) have started becoming fathers (using MESA/TESE procedures). The advent of ICSI has totally revolutionized the treatment of male infertility.
The extra embryos formed during an IVF or ICSI cycle are frozen with the help of techniques like slow freezing & vitrification and stored in liquid nitrogen at -196 C. These can be used by the patient for subsequent cycles.
Semen bank for donor samples and patients undergoing chemotherapy radiation. We have quality donors who are thoroughly screened at three monthly intervals for HIV Virus & all other diseases. Semen freezing & storage for husbands who are undergoing vasectomy, cancer therapy, or those working outside India for long periods, is also carried out.
Egg donation for women who are more than 40 years of age. These techniques have helped older women i.e. above 40 yrs & menopausal women to achieve pregnancy.Usually the waiting period for eggs & embryos runs into weeks & months abroad. Therefore, we have some patients flying down from all over the world to perform the procedure at our unit.
Technology useful in achieving pregnancy in older patients and couples with previous failure of IVF/ICSI cycles. With the help of laser energy, the covering of the embryo is cut (laser hatching) or just thinned (laser thinning), prior to embryo transfer.
The embryos are grown in the incubator for five days till they reach the blastocyst stage. These embryos are transferred back into the womb. This helps in improving pregnancy rates.
Surrogacy for those who can’t carry their pregnancy. The embryos are transferred in the womb of another woman who carries the pregnancy for 9 months. This is a new service started by the unit. We have successfully delivered many surrogates. In one of the couples, the eggs were borrowed from an anonymous egg donor, fertilised with the husband's sperm and the resultant embryos were replaced into a surrogate womb. The delivered children were then adopted by the couple.
Eggs can be frozen and stored for many years. Useful for young unmarried women who want to postpone childbearing & also for young cancer patients before chemotherapy, radiotherapy or surgery.
Patient education & counselling sessions offered by well qualified & trained personnel.
Couples unable to conceive naturally resort to IVF and selection of good sperm is a vital part of IVF. In most cases doctors use the husband’s sperm to coagulate with the wife’s egg. But there are cases where the sperm count is low. In such cases, doctors use a medical microscope attached to the computer to select good sperms. IMSI allows a magnification of 7200 times, ensures a better success rate for IVF than the earlier technique [Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)] which allowed a magnification of 200 times by helping pick better sperms. The new technique is particularly helpful to those whose sperm count is low, or have a large number of abnormal or immobile sperms. IMSI helps improve success rate among men with the worst prognosis and in patients with previous two IVF/ICSI failures. It is also useful in couples with unexplained infertility. It has been shown that IMSI resulted in better egg fertilization rates, better quality embryos, better rate of blastocyst formation and therefore better pregnancy rates.
