Fortis Project Sewa – A Beacon of Hope

In the week gone by, the heavens opened in Uttarakhand and poured relentlessly leading to floods which washed away dreams, hopes, homes and unfortunately lives.
With more than tens of thousands stranded across Uttarakhand, rescue operations are ongoing and will take time to evacuate the stranded. With infrastructure like roads, bridges and establishments ruined, Uttarakhand needs our help
Looking at the scale of devastation and suffering of the survivors, Fortis Foundation stepped forth and extended a helping hand.
Fortis Healthcare through its charitable arm – Fortis Foundation has sent over a ton of emergency medicines and a team of 18 doctors, nurses, paramedics and support staff as part of Project SEWA to provide medical relief to victims in the calamity stricken areas of Uttarakhand. More teams and equipment will be dispatched in the following days to deal with the teeming scores requiring urgent medical assistance.
Team SEWA has set up base camps at Gauchar, Badrinathand mounted relief operations with the help of local administration, the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force. Local support is also being organized by the team at Fortis Hospital, Dehradoon.
