Dr. (Prof) Puneet Mishra is throughout an alumnus of the prestigious Maulana Azad Medical College and was an Ex-Professor of orthopaedics at the University College of Medical Sciences & GTB Hospital, Delhi. He has over 23 years of experience in Orthopaedics from national and international institutions of academic excellence. He underwent a clinical fellowship In Adult Complex Primary and Revision Total Joint Arthroplasty of Hip And Knee at Endoklinik, Hamburg, Germany, which is one of the centres of excellence for Joint Replacement in the world. His special interests include all varieties of Total hip replacement (for unsalvagable hip joint disease/arthritis/posttraumatic conditions or sequalae. His special area of surgical expertise is in primary and revision total hip and knee arthroplasty. The knee replacement surgery spectrum includes total and partial (unicondylar) knee replacement surgery. He has undergone a clinical fellowship in HIP PRESERVATION under Professor Reinhold Ganz at University Hospital, Inselspital, Bern, Switzerland. He has vast experience in hip preservation in various childhood, adolescent and Young adult hip disorders such as congenital hip dislocation, hip dysplasia, slipped capital femoral epiphysis (SCFE; SUFE), Perthes disease in its sequalae, Femoroacetabular impingement (FAI). He is a pioneer in hip preservation surgery (to avoid total hip replacement in young population) in AVASCULAR NECROSIS (OSTEONECROSIS) OF FEMORAL HEAD where a case-based individualized approach to treatment is offered ranging from medical management to a plethora of surgeries like stem cell treatment and cartilage preservation, core decompression-bone grafting-bone marrow infiltration, trap door procedure with grafting and femoral osteotomy, angulation and rotational femoral osteotomy. He has successfully treated more than 2,000 cases of complex acetabular and pelvic fractures. He specializes in complex periarticular fractures, he has special expertise in Arthroscopy of knee in treating sports injuries, that require meniscus repair techniques, and knee ligament reconstruction (ACL & PCL) including multiligament injuries. He has been a regular faculty at national and international forums and has conducted CMEs, workshops and seminars in these special areas of his keen interest, both in North India and abroad.
