Dr. Prashanth Rao is a Consultant GI Minimal Access Surgeon, Onco-Surgeon and Bariatric Surgeon. After having completed his MBBS from Nair Hospital and MS (General Surgery) from KEM Hospital, he completed his DNB in General Surgery. Thereafter, he successfully pursued his Diploma in Laparoscopic Surgery from Louis Pasteur University, France and his FRCS from Edinburgh, UK. He also has fellowships such as FMAS, FIAGES, FALS (Hon) in his list of qualifications. Dr. Rao has won several distinctions, awards and prizes in his academic life, notably the 1st rank in the MS General Surgery exams held in 1995 and the Dr. A. V. Baliga Memorial prize for securing the highest points in the MS examinations.
