Dr. Taher Shaikh has extensive experience in both living and deceased donor liver transplantation. He has been part of approximately 1000 liver transplants, both adult and pediatric. He is an alumnus of Bombay's prestigious Grant Medical College & Sir J.J. Group of Hospitals. He has trained in advanced laparoscopic surgery in France. He has trained with the pioneers of LDLT at University Hospital Hong Kong and the renowned DDLT center at Birmingham University Hospital. He was instrumental in setting up the liver transplant program at Global Hospital Mumbai and was also a consultant at Gleneagles Hospital Chennai. He was the lead liver transplant surgeon at Lilavati Hospital. As Honorary Assistant Professor of Surgery at Grant Medical College, Dr. Taher Shaikh has trained many surgeons at Sir J.J. Group of Hospitals.
