About Paediatric Nephrology
The Department of Paediatric Nephrology is responsible for providing accurate diagnosis, investigation evaluation and management of kidney problems in children and adolescents. The Department deals with various types of renal diseases along with the provision of dialysis- Hemodialysis, Peritoneal Dialysis, Plasmapheresis, Kidney Biopsies, Diagnostic Laboratory studies – urine and blood tests, and renal transplantation. The multi-disciplinary team of Paediatric Nephrologists renders comprehensive care for Fluid and Electrolyte problems, Kidney stones/Renal Calculi, Acute and Chronic Kidney diseases, Urinary Tract Infections, Multicystic kidney diseases, Fanconi Syndrome, Hematuria, Hypertension, Proteinuria, Congenital anomalies of the renal tract, Glomerulonephritis, Inherited Nephropathies, Renal tubular acidosis, Bedwetting (enuresis), Hydronephrosis (Swollen kidney), Vasculitis, Inherited and Acquired forms of Tubulopathy, Renal stone disease, Kidney failure, Vesicoureteral reflux and multiple other Nephrotic syndromes. The team is expert in educating the parents about the child's problem and counselling them about its management at home.
