Fortis Hospital, Kalyan associated as medical support partner with over 800 cyclists comprising of children, women, youngsters and senior citizens who participated in the ‘Tour de Kalyan’ Cyclothon. The Cyclothon was supported by Kalyan Cyclist and Thane Zilla Cycling Association to spread the message of ‘Go Green, Go Safe, Stay Fit’ on the eve of Valentine’s Day. The event was flagged-off by Honourable Rajendra Devlekar, Mayor, Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation from Ganesh Ghat at 6.30 AM. The Cyclothon witnessed the participating cyclists carrying placards, banners etc. with messages that promoted the importance of staying fit.
As Medical Partner for the Cyclothon, Fortis Hospital, Kalyan, made available essential medical support for the participates. Two fully-equipped Fortis ambulances and support staff comprising of three Doctors, six Nurses, one Physiotherapist, equipped with first-aid facilities were present during the Cyclothon to tackle any casualty during the marathon. While one ambulance was stationed at the starting point of the venue, and the other ambulance moved along with the cyclists to address any medical emergency that might arise. Fortis Hospital’s staff, Management teams and Paramedical staff were stationed at the water junctions across the course of the Cyclothon to ensure immediate medical support in case of any emergency.
