Launch of Mental Health Curriculum in the Classroom

A Conversation with Dr Samir Parikh, an interactive session for school counsellors was held as part of the Fortis School Counsellor Forum, Fortis School Mental Health Initiative. The event was held at the India Habitat Centre in Delhi on 22nd January and at the MCA-Recreation Centre Bandra-Kurla Complex in Mumbai on 23rd January, 2019.

Dr Parikh discussed the need to enhance conversations around mental health and make help seeking a normal part of every child’s life. He emphasized the role of early identification and intervention, building life skills coping and resilience. At the event, Dr Parikh shared the launch of the Fortis Mental Health Curriculum for schools, which will focus on building understanding, knowledge, resilience and coping skills, as well as removing stigma. He encouraged school counsellors to be change makers and support systems for their students by creating the correct environment and bringing mental health into the classroom.
