Fatty Liver Disease

Fatty liver disease, now commonly referred to as Steatotic Liver Disease (SLD), occurs when excess fat accumulates in the liver, exceeding 5% of its weight. This condition can be classified into two main types: Alcohol-related Liver Disease (ALD) and Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD), previously known as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).
