About the Conference

Given the widespread scope of psychosocial factors influencing our thoughts, emotions and behavioural patterns which build our experiences, it is extremely crucial to explore the diverse perspectives influencing our psychology. There is significant evidence to attest for the interplay of multiple vectors across the psychosocial realm, which serve as major contributing and confounding variables in the study and research of human behavior. With increasing diversification in the contemporary world, there is greater need for an integrated approach towards application of psychological principles across disciplines and cultures.

Given this background, the current 3-day conference has been designed by the Department of Mental Health and Behavioural Sciences at Fortis Healthcare to allow for:

  • Exchange of ideas among students and professionals regarding the sensitivity to culture in psychological applications.
  • Understanding of new methodologies in incorporating psychosocial factors and diversity in research.
  • Discussion relating to current trends in research.

This conference encourages both professionals/students of psychology as well as individuals with a background in allied fields to explore the cumulative influences of a variety of psychological, emotional, social, cognitive as well as behavioural factors and their applications as an interface within the psychosocial realm.

Keeping in mind the diversity and dimensionality of the areas that can be considered for the conference we have compiled a list which has been segregated into three overriding themes. The conference will see papers being presented across these 3 segments which are outlined below on the 3 days that it will be held for.

Interactions of Cognitive, Emotional and Related Factors with the Psycho-social Realm Mental Health and Psycho-social Wellbeing Applications of a Multi-disciplinary Approach within the Psycho-social Context

WELCOME NOTE

Dr. Samir Parikh – Conference Chief Patron

We have had an enriching exchange of ideas, with many thought provoking discussions and researches being shared in the past two years of our Annual Psychology Conferences. This year I look forward to an even more robust conversation around the constructs congregating to form a psychosocial realm within Psychology.

This years’ topic is of great significance and relevance with increasing recognition around the world about the important role that a holistic approach plays in the application of psychology in every aspect of our lives. I hope that this conference will provide a platform for scholars and practitioners working across the globe to showcase their scholarship and expertise on the psychosocial realm that defines psychology.

He is the Director, Department of Mental Health and Behavioural Sciences and Chairperson of Fortis National Mental Health Council, Fortis Healthcare.

Kamna Chhibber - Conference Chair

This conference looks to bring together both students and professionals within the field of psychology, to share their thoughts, ideas and research on how an integration of various psychosocial factors pervade the varied disciplines in which they work. Our theme this year is in keeping with research which has long indicated the significant role that a comprehensive psychosocial framework plays in our lives and every aspect of it.

I look forward to welcoming all delegates to be a part of this platform. In keeping with our tradition from the previous years we would be awarding the Best Research Paper the Bharat Panchal Award for Excellence in Psychological Research. We hope to receive many papers that would explicate the interactions of cognitive, emotional and related factors with the psycho-social realm with the aim of enhancing psychosocial wellbeing. We welcome you all to join us to make this a successful, engaging and captivating event!
