About

Dr. Sanjith Saseedharan serves as the Director of Critical Care at S.L. Raheja Hospital – A Fortis Associate, Mumbai. He began his career with training in anesthesia at Sion Hospital, followed by a diploma in critical care from the Ruby Hall Clinic Neurotrauma Unit, Pune, and later completed a fellowship in neurotrauma critical care at Hadassah University Teaching Hospital, Israel, under the mentorship of Prof. Charles Weissman and Charles Sprung. He is the only Indian doctor to hold this specialty in India. His areas of interest include neurotrauma critical care, mechanical ventilation, and nutrition in critically ill patients. An accomplished educator and speaker, he teaches for the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine and Nursing, the College of Intensive Care Medicine, Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, and the Advanced Certification in Respiratory Technology. Under his leadership, the ICU at Raheja Hospital has adopted technologies including FRC calculation and transpulmonary pressure for mechanical ventilation, along with indirect calorimetry and functional hemodynamic monitoring. Dr. Saseedharan has authored 88 peer-reviewed articles, one book, and eight book chapters, and has received numerous awards for research excellence and innovation in critical care nutrition and patient interface technology. He also holds a gold medal award-winning patented software in critical care nutrition and received the Best Innovation Award for a technological patient interface called Vocalizer. He has been recognised as the best doctor in critical care in Mumbai by *The Week* and *Outlook*.
