Dr. Richie Gupta has been in clinical practice in the field of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery, since past 28 years. He is widely experienced in all aspects of Plastic Surgery such as gender affirmation (sex change) surgery, aesthetic surgery, cosmetic injectables, aesthetic breast surgery, body contouring, surgery of birth defects including cleft lip and palate, microvascular free flap and post cancer reconstructive surgery, cranio-maxillofacial surgery and hand surgery. He is the leading surgeon in the world in the field of gender affirmation surgery with over 3000 cases to his credit. This Department is also the leading unit in country in terms of number of sex change operations being performed, currently, around 240 per year. He co wrote the surgical chapter in and was instrumental in the release of the first ever Indian Standards of Care for persons with gender incongruence and people with differences in sexual development/ orientation (ISCO1), which was released during online IPATHCON 2020.
