With over 40 years of clinical experience, Dr. Ajitkumar Borkar, also known as Dr. Ajit S. Borkar, is a board-certified Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon associated with S.L. Raheja Hospital – A Fortis Associate, Mahim, Mumbai. He completed his M.B.B.S. in 1979, followed by an M.S. in General Surgery in 1983 and an M.Ch. in Plastic Surgery in 1986 from Nair Hospital, Mumbai. Early in his career, he trained under Dr. Brij Bhushan Joshi, gaining expertise in hand and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Borkar has served as Chief of the Plastic & Burns Unit in Saudi Arabia and later trained and practised in the United Kingdom at Middlesbrough General Hospital, South Cleveland Hospital, and Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Institute, Glasgow, where he received an A+ in microsurgery under the mentorship of Sir Martyn Webster. His clinical interests include cosmetic surgery, burns, trauma, congenital deformities, hand surgery, and microsurgery.
