Dr. Ashok Mehta

Bringing over 40 years of experience in surgical oncology, Dr. Ashok Mehta is a senior Surgical Oncologist associated with S.L. Raheja Hospital – A Fortis Associate, Mahim, Mumbai. He provides surgical care for complex cancer cases, with a particular focus on head and neck oncology. Dr. Mehta has played a pioneering role in establishing head and neck oncology as a recognized super-specialty in India and has contributed significantly to the advancement of surgical oncology at both national and international levels. In recognition of his role in the development of medical specialties, he received the prestigious Dr. B. C. Roy National Award in 1996. He has served as President of the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), Indian Society of Oncology (ISO), Indian Association of Surgical Oncology (IASO), and the International Society for Head and Neck Oncology (ISHNO). Dr. Mehta is actively involved in academic and educational initiatives, has conducted numerous workshops, co-authored a book on the diagnosis and management of cancer, and has a deep interest in holistic health, including meditation and preventive healthcare, reflecting his patient-centered and multidisciplinary approach to cancer treatment.
