Dr. Deepak G Shivarathre

Dr. Deepak G. Shivarathre is a highly experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon with over 20 years of clinical experience. Prior to returning to India in 2017, he served as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust, UK. During his tenure in the UK, he played a key role in establishing a regional referral centre for the management of metastatic bone disease at the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals, Liverpool. He has undergone extensive specialist training in the management of complex and revision joint replacement surgeries, gaining significant expertise in advanced reconstructive orthopaedics. Dr. Shivarathre also has specialized experience in the use of custom-made 3D-printed implants (Supercraft 3D, Singapore) for the management of complex bone defects, enabling highly personalized and precise surgical solutions for challenging cases. Dr. Deepak's clinical expertise encompasses Joint Replacement Surgery, including total knee, total hip, and shoulder and elbow replacements. Specialized care also covers revision and complex reconstruction—such as revision surgery for failed joint replacements, management of prosthetic joint infections, periprosthetic fractures, and neglected or failed trauma cases. Additionally, proficiency extends to Musculoskeletal Oncology for bone and soft tissue tumors, featuring endoprosthetic reconstruction, mega-prosthetic (BAR) replacements, 3D-printed custom-made prostheses, and limb salvage surgery, alongside Sports Orthopaedic Surgery focusing on ACL reconstruction and knee ligament injuries.
