Dr. Kamlesh Kumar Saha

Having performed more than 5,000 heart surgeries on patients ranging in age from 2 months to 84 years, Dr. Kamlesh Saha is a Consultant Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeon at S.L. Raheja Hospital – A Fortis Associate, Mahim, Mumbai. He received his training in Heart Surgery from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, and completed a fellowship at The Mayo Clinic, United States. Dr. Saha has been awarded several university-level gold medals and prizes, has published numerous articles in national and international medical journals, and has presented his work at international forums. He is among the few surgeons certified for Heartware Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) implantation. His expertise includes Off-Pump Beating Heart Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (OPCAB) using total arterial grafts without blood transfusion, and he pioneered the Aortic No-Touch Technique, which is associated with a significantly reduced risk of stroke during CABG procedures. His clinical interests include beating heart surgery, high-risk CABG, minimally invasive bypass surgery, surgery for heart failure, the Maze procedure for atrial fibrillation, and reconstructive heart surgery in children.
