She began her private practice in 1997 and ranked first in the M.D. (Skin) examination conducted by Mumbai University, for which she was awarded a gold medal by the College of Physicians & Surgeons. Dr. Kamat completed one year of research in Basic Sciences at the University of Bern, Switzerland, and her research work has been published in international journals.
