Dr. Nikhil Rao

Bringing over 10 years of clinical experience in nephrology and renal care, Dr. Nikhil Rao serves as an Associate Consultant Nephrologist at S.L. Raheja Hospital – A Fortis Associate. He completed his MBBS, MD in Internal Medicine, and DM in Nephrology from Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital, where he was awarded a gold medal during his postgraduate training. Dr. Rao further enhanced his expertise through an international fellowship in glomerular diseases with GlomCon, USA, receiving focused training in the management of complex kidney disorders, including diabetic kidney disease. His clinical experience includes the management of more than 150 kidney transplant patients and the performance of over 200 kidney biopsies. He is involved in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic kidney disease, hypertension-related kidney conditions, and nephrology support for critically ill patients in intensive care settings. In addition to clinical practice, he contributes to academics through research publications in indexed journals and teaching activities for medical students.
