Widely recognized as a pioneer in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) Surgery in India, he completed his MBBS at Kurnool Medical College and obtained an MS in General Surgery from the University of Madras. His career in surgical oncology includes serving as Professor and Chief of the Gastrointestinal Service at Tata Memorial Hospital. Dr. Jagannath is known for introducing stapler-assisted sphincter-conserving rectal surgery in India.
