Dr. Sanjay Borude

With over 30 years of clinical experience, Dr. Sanjay Borude is a Bariatric Surgeon associated with S.L. Raheja Hospital – A Fortis Associate, Mahim, Mumbai. He began his career as a General Surgeon in 1989 and has been exclusively practicing bariatric surgery since 2000. His clinical practice focuses on laparoscopic weight loss procedures, including Lap-Band, Sleeve Gastrectomy, and Gastric Bypass surgeries, and he has treated more than 8,000 patients with morbid obesity. Recognized as one of the pioneering bariatric surgeons in India, Dr. Borude has received advanced training in obesity surgery at reputed centers in the USA, Belgium, and Spain. He is a Professor Emeritus at Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College (Sion Hospital) and is also associated with the College of Physicians & Surgeons. His notable achievements include being featured in the Limca Book of Records for performing bariatric surgery on an 11-month-old child and participating in Asia’s first “Google Eye” bariatric surgery conducted with the Google team.
