Dr. Shankar Kalgudi is a highly experienced Intensivist with over 16 years of expertise in critical care medicine, spanning quaternary care hospitals across India and Australia. He currently serves as the Senior Consultant and Director of Critical Care Medicine at Fortis Hospital, Cunningham Road, Bengaluru. Dr. Kalgudi is also actively involved in hospital leadership as the chair of key committees such as Infection Control, Quality & Safety, and Antibiotic Stewardship, contributing to institutional excellence and patient safety. With 12 years of international experience in leading hospitals across Perth and Adelaide, he brings a global perspective to evidence-based critical care practices. Dr. Shankar's extensive clinical experience includes working at some of Australia’s leading healthcare institutions, including Fiona Stanley Hospital and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth, Royal Perth Hospital, as well as Flinders Medical Centre and The Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Adelaide. He has also served as Chief Resident at P.D. Hinduja National Hospital & Medical Research Centre, Mumbai.
