Dr. Shraddha Maheshwari

With over 15 years of experience in brain and spine surgery, Dr. Shradha Maheshwari serves as a Consultant Neurosurgeon at S.L. Raheja Hospital – A Fortis Associate, Mahim, Mumbai. Among the first few female neurosurgeons in India, she has gained extensive clinical and academic experience through her association with institutions such as KEM Hospital and BYL Nair Hospital, where she also held the position of Assistant Professor. Her areas of expertise include minimally invasive brain and spine surgery, skull base procedures, and pediatric neurosurgery. Dr. Maheshwari is the first female neurosurgeon in India to establish a neurosurgery department in a government-run medical college. She is also recognized for performing a complex atlanto-axial dislocation surgery through the anterior approach, becoming the first in Mumbai and the second in the country to do so. She has presented this surgical technique internationally and currently serves as Executive Committee Member and Treasurer of the Neuro Spinal Surgeons Association, while also leading its Women’s Wing.
