Dr. Tapas Raychaudhury

Dr. Tapas Raychaudhury is a renowned cardiothoracic surgeon with over 35 years of extensive experience to his credit. A distinguished scholar, he has completed his FRCS from England and Edinburgh, reflecting his strong academic and clinical excellence. He holds several pioneering achievements in cardiac surgery. Dr. Raychaudhury is the first heart surgeon in Kolkata to perform 75 consecutive multi-vessel bypass surgeries between 1984 and 1986. In February 1996, he performed the first Beating Heart Bypass Surgery in Eastern India. In the same year, he introduced Kolkata’s first Mini-Bypass Surgery (MIDCAB), performed through a minimal 4-inch incision on the left side of the chest. He was also a part of the team that conducted the first Heart Transplant in Eastern India.
