Dr. Gurleen Sikka

Dr. Gurleen Sikka is a Paediatrician and Neonatologist with extensive clinical experience in the management of newborns and children, with a special focus on neonatal intensive care and high-risk newborns. She has dedicated her clinical practice to the care of premature and extremely low birth weight (ELBW) babies, critically ill neonates and infants requiring advanced neonatal care. Dr. Sikka completed her MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, and MD in Paediatrics from Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi. She subsequently completed a two-year Fellowship in Neonatology at Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport, United Kingdom, under the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) Medical Training Initiative. Her fellowship provided experience in a Level III neonatal unit, including management of high-risk deliveries, extremely premature and ELBW babies, neonatal ventilation, therapeutic hypothermia and high-risk neonatal follow-up. Her clinical expertise includes the management of critically ill newborns, neonatal emergencies, neonatal respiratory conditions, neonatal sepsis, premature infants and babies requiring intensive care. She has experience with both conventional and high-frequency ventilation and has been trained in therapeutic hypothermia for neonates with perinatal asphyxia. She has also developed expertise in bedside cranial ultrasound and neurodevelopmental assessment of high-risk infants. Dr. Sikka has worked in leading paediatric and neonatal centres in Delhi and the United Kingdom. Her professional experience includes neonatal and paediatric services at Lady Hardinge Medical College, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Max Super Speciality Hospital, Shalimar Bagh, and C. K. Birla Hospital. She has experience managing patients across paediatric wards, emergency services, NICU and PICU settings.
