Dr. Kaushal Kant Mishra

Dr. Kaushal Kant Mishra is Senior Director of Orthopaedics and Joint Replacement at Fortis Escorts, Okhla Road, New Delhi. With over 28 years of extensive experience in orthopaedics, joint replacement, knee replacement and trauma care, he has established himself as a leading specialist in his field. Dr. Mishra holds the distinction of being the first orthopaedic surgeon to perform an uncemented hip replacement in Tanzania. He also performed a hip replacement on the youngest female patient in Nigeria and has performed a high number of hip replacement surgeries in patients aged between 70 and 107 years. Among his notable achievements, Dr. Mishra performed a hip replacement surgery in just 18 minutes, a feat that is currently being considered for inclusion in the record books. He also performed a hip replacement (hemiarthroplasty) through a remarkably small 2-inch skin incision on a 92-year-old male patient, an achievement described as a record for the smallest incision used for the procedure. Dr. Mishra has also made significant contributions to the establishment of the Bone and Tissue Bank at AIIMS, New Delhi. In 2006, he was nominated for the Guinness Book of World Records for performing a hip replacement on a 107-year-old patient.
