Dr. Sandeep Balanrao Gore

Dr Sandeep Gore is a distinguished emergency medicine specialist with over 17 years of experience. He serves as the Director in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Fortis Hospital, Mulund, Mumbai, and Chairman of the Emergency Medicine Council at Fortis Healthcare, India. He is instrumental in shaping the future of Emergency Medicine as the National Vice President of the Society for Emergency Medicine India (SEMI) for consecutive three terms. He is also serving as vice president of Critical Care SIG of International Federation of Emergency Medicine (IFEM) for consecutive second term, He has made tremendous contributions to the field, often through clinical innovation, pioneering academics & education, public awareness, policy advocacy, and crisis management. In 2025 he launched India’s 1st ECMO fellowship for Emergency Medicine doctors and delivered 1st bunch of ECMO ready Emergency Medicine doctors in India. After graduating from B.J. Medical College, Pune, Dr Gore completed his Fellowship in Emergency Medicine from Christian Medical College, Vellore. Later, he achieved the Membership of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (MRCEM) qualification from the UK and European Board Certification in Emergency Medicine (EBCEM). He is India’s first ELSO-certified Emergency Physician and got specialised in extracorporeal membrane oxygenation for advanced emergency care. He is a senior Examiner for RCEM and an academic supervisor. He is also fellow of Royal Society of Medicine, UK. He also holds an MBA degree from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, which enhances his healthcare leadership capabilities.

1. His Emergency Rescue work in 2005 flood and landslide disaster in Raigad district of Maharashtra has been recognized by Maharashtra Government as an Extraordinary healthcare work. 2. His life saving work in rescuing and treating German Beckery Bomblast in Feb 2010 was appreciated by Lion’s club Pune by giving him an award and honor letter. 3. Established department of Emergency Medicine at Fortis Hospital, Mulund, Mumbai in 2011 and lead it to India’s one of the first NABH accredited Emergency Medicine department in 2016. 4. Organizing Chairperson – National Symposium on Emergency Medicine (NSEM 2014). 5. Invited by NDTV in charitable show as prominent figure in Medical field in a talkathon to raise funds for Kerala flood disaster in 2017. 6. Special appreciation letter by Governor of Maharashtra for extraordinary work during COVID pandemic in 2020. 7. His work during COVID pandemic has been appreciated by Rotary Club Mumbai by giving him service excellence award 2021. 8. Times of India healthcare leadership award 2024 – Excellence in Emergency Medicine. 9. IHH International award 2025 in category of Clinical Excellence . 10. Times of India healthcare leadership award 2025 Excellence in Emergency Medicine. 11. Selected for state level award for year 2026 for impactful work in Emergency Medicine with global impact and pioneering work in Resuscitative POCUS in Emergency Medicine.
