Dr. Surakshith T K is a Gastroenterologist, Hepatologist and Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopist at Fortis Escorts Liver & Digestive Diseases Institute, Okhla, New Delhi. He has over 15 years of clinical experience in gastroenterology, hepatology and advanced endoscopic procedures, with a special focus on third-space endoscopy and minimally invasive endoscopic treatment. His area of expertise includes POEM (Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy) for achalasia cardia and other oesophageal motility disorders, as well as advanced third-space procedures such as G-POEM, Z-POEM, ESD and EFTR. He has performed more than 250 third-space procedures, including over 200 POEM procedures. He also has experience in ESD, EMR and EFTR for the endoscopic treatment of selected early gastrointestinal cancers, large and complex polyps, and other gastrointestinal lesions. His practice also includes advanced ERCP and therapeutic EUS for pancreaticobiliary disorders, bile-duct stones, biliary obstruction and pancreatic diseases. He treats a broad range of gastrointestinal and liver conditions, including fatty liver disease (MASLD), hepatitis, cirrhosis, GERD, swallowing disorders and other digestive disorders. Dr. Surakshith completed his MBBS and MD (Medicine) followed by DNB (Gastroenterology) at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. Dr. Surakshith has undergone advanced training in ESD and image-enhanced/magnifying endoscopy in Japan, including training at Jichi Medical University under Dr. Hironori Yamamoto and at Osaka International Cancer Institute under Prof. Noriya Uedo. He is a member of professional organisations including the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), World Endoscopy Organization (WEO), Indian National Association for the Study of the Liver (INASL), Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy of India (SGEI) and Indian Society of Gastroenterology (ISG).
