Celebrating the Gift of Life: Fortis Hospitals Bengaluru Honours Over 45 Organ Donors and Donor Families

 Bengaluru, August 31, 2026: Fortis Hospitals, Bengaluru, as part of Organ Donation Month, organised a special Donor Felicitation Programme today themed “Celebrating the Gift of Life”, bringing together over 45 organ donors and donor families from across Bengaluru. The programme honoured their extraordinary act of generosity and highlight the life-changing impact of organ donation. 

The programme brought together donors and donor families from Fortis Hospital Bannerghatta Road, Fortis Hospital Cunningham Road and Fortis Hospital Nagarbhavi, along with transplant specialists, healthcare professionals and members of the community. The gathering was a heartfelt recognition of individuals whose selfless contribution has given patients battling end-stage organ failure a second chance at life, while acknowledging the immense courage of families who chose organ donation during one of the most difficult moments of their lives. 

Organ donation is much more than a medical procedure—it is an act of compassion that has the power to transform not just the life of a recipient, but an entire family. For recipients, a donated organ represents renewed hope, the possibility of returning to everyday life and more time with their loved ones. For donor families, the decision to donate can create a lasting legacy from an otherwise immeasurable loss.
