February 4th, 2025, Mumbai: To commemorate World Cancer Day 2025, Fortis Hospital Mulund hosted a talent and painting session to showcase the incredible talents of Cancer patients and survivors. This initiative witnessed participation of 150 individuals and offered a platform for them to unite, exchange experiences, and show solidarity with those affected by Cancer. It helped foster a sense of hope and community by encouraging meaningful conversations about Cancer care in alignment with the global theme ‘United by Unique’, and highlighted the importance of mental and emotional well-being during the healing journey.
This initiative provided a dynamic platform for participants to engage creatively, while raising awareness about key issues related to Cancer. Through their performances, individuals shared personal stories, extended support to fellow Cancer patients, and emphasized the critical importance of early diagnosis, prevention, and treatment in beating Cancer. To show support and solidarity doctors from Fortis Hospital Mulund also attended the event and delivered a speech on the crucial role played by support groups in fostering Cancer awareness.
Speaking about the initiative, Dr Vishal Beri, Facility Director-Fortis Hospital, Mulund, said, “We are proud to host an event which is not just a celebration of artistry and creativity, but a testament to the strength, courage, and resilience of those who have faced the challenges of Cancer and gone on to defy the odds with their passion & perseverance. As a champion of preventative healthcare, we have tried to raise awareness, foster a sense of community, and emphasize the importance of early detection and treatment through this initiative. Together, we are not merely fighting a disease; we are fostering a community of support, compassion, and progress.”
Mr Mandhare (a Cancer warrior), said, “Being here today and performing with so many incredible people remind me how far we have all come. Cancer tried to take so much from us, but it did not succeed. We came together today as a community to share our stories, our joy, laughter, and hope. Cancer can be isolating, but events like this remind me that we’re never alone in our fight. We have fostered bonds that will go beyond our cancer journey.”
