Jaipur, 30 August, 2026: Fortis Escorts Hospital, Jaipur organised a specialised one-day academic and hands-on training programme titled “Hand Injuries in Sports,” in association with The Jaipur Hand Surgery Association (JHSA), Rajasthan Orthopaedic Surgeons Association (ROSA) and the Jaipur Orthopedic Society (JOS).
The program focused on Suture Anchor techniques, live surgical video sessions and brought together orthopedic surgeons, hand surgeons alongwith sports medicine specialists for intensive skill enhancement in managing complex hand injuries commonly faced by sportspersons. The scientific curriculum focused on the fundamental principles of suture anchor application, knot-tying practice on bone models, interactive case discussions on complex athletic injuries, and structured live surgical video demonstrations. The event witnessed active participation from resident doctors, medical consultants, and hand surgery specialists from across the region.
Leading the faculty for the workshop were Dr Amit Varade from Nashik, Dr Parag Lad from Mumbai, and Dr Dilip Mehta from Jaipur, who conducted the hands-on training sessions and shared clinical insights drawn from their extensive experience in hand and sports injury surgery. The event was organised under the leadership of Dr Purnima Patni, President, JHSA; Dr Narendra Saini, Secretary; and Dr Amit Kumar Vyas, Organising Secretary, along with committee members Dr Amit Mittal, Dr Vinit Arora, Dr Aviral Gupta and Dr Divyansh Sharma. The workshop also had the support of ROSA office bearers Dr D. S. Meena, President, and Dr Vikram Sharma, Secretary, as well as the Jaipur Orthopedic Society, represented by Dr R. P. Asat, President; Dr Ashok Khandaka, Immediate Past President; and Dr Anil Gupta, Secretary.
