Jaipur, September 30, 2026: Fortis Escorts Hospital, Jaipur, on Wednesday launched a dedicated Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Clinic, aimed at strengthening access to specialized neurological care for patients across Jaipur and neighbouring regions. The clinic was inaugurated by Dr Neetu Ramrakhiani, Director, Neurology; Dr Vivek Vaid, Director Neurosurgery, Dr Vikas Gupta Additional Director Neurology and Dr Ishu Goyal, Consultant – Neurology & Movement Disorder Specialist, Fortis Escorts Hospital, Jaipur in association with the Digambar Jain Maha Samiti (Rajasthan Anchal)
The clinic will operate every Monday to Saturday and will provide comprehensive care for Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders, including dystonia, writer’s cramp, pharyngospasm, tremors, and other abnormal movements. It will also offer advanced therapies for elderly patients, such as Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS), Botox, and the apomorphine pump which are specialized treatments that are rarely available elsewhere in the region.
The launch event highlighted that timely medical intervention, advanced treatment and structured rehabilitation can help patients manage the condition and improve their quality of life. Common symptoms like tremors, stiffness, slowed movement, and balance issues are frequently dismissed as normal signs of aging. Doctors advise seeking a neurological evaluation if these symptoms persist or worsen.
Speaking at the launch, Dr Ishu Goyal, Consultant – Neurology & Movement Disorder Specialist at the hospital, said, “Parkinson’s disease is becoming increasingly prevalent, yet many of its early warning signs remain unrecognized or are often dismissed as a normal part of ageing. Greater awareness of these subtle symptoms, timely evaluation, and early initiation of appropriate treatment is crucial in improving outcomes and preserving quality of life. Our dedicated Parkinson’s Clinic is designed to provide a comprehensive, one-stop solution for early diagnosis, multi-disciplinary evaluation, personalized treatment, and ongoing care, ensuring that patients receive the right support at every stage of treatment.”
Dr Manish Kumar Agarwal, Facility Director, Fortis Escorts Hospital, Jaipur, said, "The Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Clinic bridges a critical gap in specialized neurocare for Jaipur and neighbouring areas. Backed by cutting-edge clinical infrastructure and proven surgical excellence in advanced neuro-interventions, this launch reinforces our enduring commitment to making world-class, multidisciplinary healthcare accessible right here in our community."
