Fortis Hospital Anandapur Hosts Symposium on Lung Transplant and Pulmonary Care 

 Kolkata, January 2025: Fortis Hospital Anandapur organized an enlightening symposium on ‘Lung Failure and the Role of Lung Transplant’. The event brought together leading experts in pulmonary care and transplant surgery to discuss technological advancements and best practices in the management of lung failure and post-transplant care. The session was attended by participants from the medical field, including pulmonologists, transplant surgeons, intensivists, and healthcare professionals, all keen to explore innovative solutions for lung diseases and improve patient care. The symposium served as a platform for sharing knowledge on the latest developments in lung transplantation, offering valuable insights into treatment options and patient outcomes. 

 The symposium was led by Dr. Sushmita Roychowdhury, Director, Pulmonology, Fortis Hospital Anandapur, Dr. Subhajit Sen, Consultant, Pulmonology, Fortis Hospital Anandapur, Dr. Sivaresmi Unnithan, Consultant, Pulmonology, Fortis Hospital Anandapur, Dr. Amitabha Chakrabarti, Senior Consultant, CTVS, Fortis Hospital Anandapur, Dr. Apar Jindal, HOD & Program Director, Heart and Lung Transplant, and Dr. Sharanya Kumar, Senior Consultant and Head, Thoracic Transplant Anesthesia and Critical Care amongst other panelists.  

 Sharing her thoughts on this initiative, Dr. Sushmita Roychowdhury said, "With the growing burden of lung diseases in India, it is essential to raise awareness about the role of advanced care, including lung transplants.
