Fortis Hospital Ludhiana marked World Cancer Day with a series of awareness initiatives, aimed at educating the public about cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment options 

  Ludhiana, February, 2025 – Fortis Hospitals Ludhiana located at Mall Road and Chandigarh Road, marked World Cancer Day with a series of initiatives focused on cancer prevention, early detection and treatment. At a Press conference, the Leadership team and Oncology experts unveiled the new programmes designed to raise awareness and improve access to cancer screening. Dr. Vishavdeep Goyal (Zonal Head, Fortis Amritsar and Ludhiana) and Mr. Gurdarshan Singh Mangat (Unit Head, Fortis Hospital, Mall Road, Ludhiana), along with a team of senior oncologists -  Dr. Davinder Paul (Principal Consultant in Medical Oncology, Dr. Harish Matta (Director of General & Onco Surgery), Dr. Praveen Kaur (Additional Director of Radiation Oncology), Dr. Ravinder Singh Sidhu (Senior Consultant in Nuclear Medicine) Dr. Anish Bhatia (Consultant in Surgical Oncology), Dr Anmol Ratan Kath (Consultant in Head & Neck Onco Surgery) and Dr Shalini Verma (Associate Consultant in Medical Oncology) along with Mr. Jaspreet Singh and Mr Gurpreet Singh from Fit Club— emphasised the importance of proactive cancer detection and treatment. 

  The hospital’s initiatives include community engagement events, the launch of a special cancer screening package and a symbolic illumination of its office buildings to reinforce the message of early diagnosis and prevention. 

  The day commenced with Fortis Hospital on Chandigarh Road and Mall Road in Ludhiana illuminating their buildings in pink to show support for cancer awareness. The awareness drive continues on February 8, 2025, at Pavilion Mall, where interactive sessions on cancer prevention and self-examination will take place, with the mall also lit in pink to reinforce the message of early detection. As part of its commitment to community engagement, Fortis will host the "Fortis Golden Temple Ride" Cyclothon on February 9, 2025. The ride will start from Fortis Hospital, Mall Road, Ludhiana, pass through Fortis Escorts Amritsar, and culminate at Shri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple), encouraging public participation in promoting health and wellness. 

  In addition, Fortis Hospital is launching a Comprehensive Cancer Screening Package at both its Mall Road and Chandigarh Road facilities, ensuring greater access to timely screenings and preventive care, reinforcing the hospital’s commitment to early diagnosis and better patient outcomes.
