On World TB Day, Fortis Escorts Faridabad Adopts 10 TB patients from Faridabad’s Government-Run BK Hospital

Faridabad, 24th March 2025: Fortis Escorts Hospital, Faridabad has taken a significant step on the World Tuberculosis Day 2025 by adopting 10 TB patients from Faridabad’s Government hospital, BK Hospital’s TB Department and providing them with essential nutritional kits for the next six months. This initiative is part of the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan’s (PMTBMBA) Nikshay Project, which aims to eradicate TB in India by 2025 through enhanced nutritional support and comprehensive patient care.

Each distributed kit contains 2 kg of rice and flour and 3 kg of pulses, ensuring a rich source of protein, fibre and antioxidants. Additionally, 1 litre of vegetable oil and 500 gm peanut have been included to meet essential fat requirements. Patients also received 500 gm of sugar to boost the energy level through glucose.

Dr. Ravi Shekhar Jha, Director of Pulmonology, Fortis Hospital Faridabad said, “Proper nutrition plays a vital role in TB recovery. As a pulmonologist, I have witnessed firsthand how malnutrition weakens immunity and hampers treatment outcomes. Through this initiative, we aim to provide much-needed nutritional support to help patients regain their strength and fight TB more effectively.”

The Nikshay project, supported by Fortis Healthcare and implemented by MAMTA - Health Institute for Mother and Child focusses on meeting the nutritional needs of recovering Tuberculosis (TB) patients across Maharashtra, Haryana, and Punjab. The project aligns with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare's (MoHFW) National StrategicPlan to achieve End TB targets by 2025. As a part of the initiative 26076 TB Kits have been distributed to 9739 TB Patients in 7 Districts across 3 States
