8,125 Gallstones Removed in a Rare Surgery at Fortis Gurugram

A 70-year-old male patient was successfully relieved of 8,125 gallstones in a highly complex surgery performed at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram.

Led by Dr. Amit Javed, Senior Director – Gastrointestinal Oncology, and Dr. Narola Yanger, Principal Consultant – GI, GI Oncology, Minimal Access & Bariatric Surgery, the expert team performed a successful laparoscopic cholecystectomy, removing the stones in just an hour and bringing an end to the patient’s years of pain.
