Fortis Greater Noida Marks World Kidney Day with Next-Gen Dialysis Launch
On World Kidney Day (12th March), Fortis Hospital Greater Noida introduced its Next Generation Haemodiafiltration (HDF) machine, addressing the rising burden of lifestyle-related kidney diseases caused by diabetes, hypertension, obesity, and excessive protein supplement use.
A key highlight of the activity was a remarkable patient success story. A 32-year-old woman with end-stage kidney failure, already dependent on dialysis after a failed transplant, was admitted in a life-threatening condition with severe breathlessness, low blood pressure, and high fever. With survival chances at just 10%, her condition was extremely critical.
Dr. Ravinder Singh Bhadoria, Additional Director – Nephrology, led the case and took the critical decision to use advanced HDF considering the patient’s highly immunocompromised condition. Dr. Prashant Kumar, Consultant – Urology, played an equally vital role with his clinical expertise and patient-centric approach, ensuring comprehensive management throughout the treatment. Together, the team successfully performed a four-hour procedure that stabilized the patient and significantly improved toxin clearance. She is now stable and recovering well.
Highlighting the initiative, Mr. Siddharth Nigam, Facility Director, emphasized that this launch reinforces Fortis Greater Noida’s commitment to delivering advanced, life-saving kidney care.
The HDF technology offers improved toxin removal, better blood pressure stability, and enhanced quality of life, marking a significant advancement in dialysis treatment.
