Government of India Launches HPV Vaccination Drive; Dr. Nitika Sobti Highlights Importance of Early Vaccination in India Today Interview
The Government of India has launched the HPV vaccination drive from Ajmer, Rajasthan — a significant step toward preventing cervical cancer in India.
In a recent video interview published by India Today, Dr. Nitika Sobti, Senior Director & Unit Head – Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Fortis Hospital, Gurugram, explained why the HPV vaccine is recommended specifically for 14-year-olds.
She highlighted that vaccination at this age provides a stronger immune response and maximum protection against HPV infections, which are the leading cause of cervical cancer. Early vaccination helps build long-term immunity and significantly reduces the future burden of HPV-related cancers.
Early vaccination today ensures a healthier tomorrow.
