World Organ Donation Day 2026

Fortis Escorts, Okhla, in collaboration with the National Organ & Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO), observed World Organ Donation Day 2026 on 12 August with an awareness initiative focused on highlighting the life-saving impact of organ donation and encouraging greater public participation.

The event brought together senior medical experts, healthcare leaders and 3–4 transplant patients, including organ donors and recipients, whose personal journeys brought a powerful human perspective to the importance of organ donation. The gathering included Dr. ZS Meharwal, Chairman & Head – Cardiac Sciences, Fortis Escorts, Okhla; Dr. Pankaj Panwar, Additional Director – Urology, Fortis Escorts, Okhla; Dr. Vivek Vij, Chairman – Liver Transplant & HPB Surgery, Fortis Healthcare; Dr. Sanjeev Gulati, Executive Director – Nephrology, Fortis Escorts, Okhla; and Dr. Vikram Aggarwal, Vice President & Head – SBU.
