Dr Sourabh Shirish Kulkarni is Director and Head of the Department of Orthopaedics at Fortis Hiranandani Hospital, Vashi, Navi Mumbai, with more than 15 years of experience in orthopaedics and joint replacement surgery. He specialises in robotic and computer-navigated joint reconstruction, including robotic knee replacement, hip replacement, partial knee replacement, minimally invasive joint replacement and complex revision arthroplasty. He has performed more than 1,000 robotic-assisted knee replacement surgeries and is also an International Proctor in robotic joint replacement surgery.
His core expertise includes robotic total knee replacement, robotic hip replacement, complex primary and revision knee and hip replacement, adult joint reconstruction, deformity correction, complex fractures and trauma management. He treats osteoarthritis, advanced knee and hip arthritis, painful or failed joint replacements, joint deformities and mobility-limiting conditions. Dr Kulkarni uses advanced robotic and computer-assisted technology to support precise surgical planning, implant positioning and personalized alignment.
He completed his MS in Orthopedics from Seth G.S. Medical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai, where he received the Vice Chancellor’s Certificate of Merit from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences. He later completed a SICOT Fellowship in Advanced Hip and Knee Surgery at Dr L.H. Hiranandani Hospital, Powai, and a Fellowship in Joint Replacement Surgery at EWHA Woman's University Mokdong Hospital, Seoul, South Korea.
Dr Kulkarni has also served as Assistant Professor of Orthopedics at T.N. Medical College and B.Y.L. Nair Hospital, Mumbai.
