Dr. Swati Gupta is a Gold Medalist in MD Pediatrics and a fellow of Allergy and Clinical Immunology trained under Dr. Nagaraju who is formally called as the Father of pediatric allergy in India. She has been trained in pediatric cardiac surgical intensive care as well as pediatric & neonatal intensive care. She has been practicing paediatrics for the last 17 years. She also has keen interest in allergies and running Allergy Clinic for the last 6 yrs. She has gained expertise in managing difficult cases of Asthma, urticaria, atopic dermatitis, rhinitis, conjunctivitis and poor weight gain. She has timely diagnosed and saved two patients of anaphylaxis in OPD practice and diagnosed few cases of abdominal angioedema, one of which has been appreciated at international conference of APSID 2020 by eminent immunologists and bagged first prize for poster at Annual conference of IAP Chandigarh 2019. She has successfully withdrawn inhalation therapy of many patients of Childhood asthma and allergies. She saved a 3yr old with severe acute asthma with pneumomediastinum and a 6yr old with penicillin induced anaphylaxis . She has successfully treated approximately 30 patients of severe allergy with subcutaneous immunotherapy. • As a part of team, she Saved the first youngest open heart surgery baby, operated at Fortis and transported and contributed to fruitful survival of 450gm baby (the first lowest birth weight in India), registered in “Limca Book of World Records”. • Her 12yr old patient, who had been a victim of snakebite, was selected in Medical Excellence cases in Fortis Annual Report. . She has managed Dengue shock syndrome with MODS in a known case of steroid dependent Nephrotic syndrome with no sequelae. • With her sharp clinical skills, she had successfully established peritoneal dialysis in two LBW newborn and Inserted chest tube in a 24weeker 400gms baby, inserted PICC line in many VLBWs. • She has Independently diagnosed many rare cases like Rubinstein Taybi Syndrome, Dubowitz Syndrome, Hallermann Streiff Syndrome, Baller Gerold Syndrome, Townes Brocks Syndrome etc. She has bagged Certificate of Appreciation for good work and maximum patient feedbacks twice by Director Fortis. • She has three original research and paper presentations on Malaria, Diphtheria and Adoption to her credit. She has been a faculty at national conferences like Paed Allercon, Rhinocon, ICAAICON and national CADE module. She has contributed a Chapter on “Investigations in Pediatric allergy” in the IAP Textbook of Pediatric Allergy & Applied Immunology. Two of her original studies have been accepted for publication at international journals- AIJCR and JACI. She has worked for many community projects like Pulse Polio Immunization, School Health Programme, IMNCI, Flood Relief Camps, Cholera & Malaria Epidemic Relief Camps, Nanhi Chhan, Vatsalchhaya etc.
